Years before Robert Stack delved into the world of True Crime, UFO's, Old Legends, and The Paranormal, Stack starred in his own, albeit fictional, Unsolved Mystery ,called The Strange And Deadly Occurrence.

Co-staring Vera Miles of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Psycho, Stack and Miles play a couple ,whose new dream home, seems to be the subject of disturbing , unexplained
occurrences .

Is The Couple being haunted or are they the object of a cruel prank ?

I won't give away the answer , but The film is pretty entertaining TV Movie of the week , and it's always fun to see Robert Stack .

The Number One Song the week the film aired September 24, 1974 , a classic by Barry White

Continuing my odyssey through 1970s Telefilm Horror , is the 1970 Haunted House film, The House That Wouldn't Die, Starring the Great Barbara Stanwyck of films such as Double Indemnity and TV shows such as Big Valley .

She was one of the most charismatic, and dynamic, actresses to ever grace the silver and small screen , and even in her later years , with appearances in shows such as The Thornbirds, she still could command the screen .

Hear ,as usual she puts in a good performance .

The film is a typical haunted house flick, and while it can be a bit predictable , at a bit over 70 minutes, it doesn't waste anytime in getting down to business .

It was a brief , but entertaining haunted house ride with good performances all around, and with actors who take the material seriously .

Airing October 27th, 1970 , one of the songs the week the film aired on ABC, is a hit ,
by Neil Diamond

I gotta say , I was pretty impressed with this psychological thriller which makes the viewer question what is real and what is reality , and even now , after watching , I still have questions.

Predating films like Dreamscape , Total Recall, and Inception, The Deadly Dream takes the viewer on a nonstop labyrinth of nightmare-ish situations and shady characters , as we follow our lead , Lloyd Bridges is he's driven over the edge unable to reconcile what is dream and what is reality.

His leading lady, is Janet Leigh, a decade after Psycho and The Manchurian Candidate, still looking stunning .

I don't want to give much more away than I already have, but I recommend The Deadly Dream.

It's interesting, Looking at the film in the context of the decade, by 1979 , Both Llyod and Janet's children , Jeff Bridges and Jamie Lee Curtis , would both become major stars, and pop culture icons, who would both eventually go on to win Oscars .

At this moment in time, however, it's their parents, who were the well known stars to the public .

Airing September 25th, 1971 one of the hit songs in the Top Ten was one of the biggest hits of the 70s , which would go on to be covered numerous times .

Rod Stewart's , Maggie May.
