When Batman flips over the Joker card.

My theater was mostly whispers with the occasional high pitched squeal.

I really can't remember, cause I went, "holy ****in ****". ;)

Mh, I think they felt it was certainly better than the last one.

I remember hearing some slight cheers, you could definitely feel the excitement. Granted, it's been five years since I've seen it in theaters.

A few little cheers, and several people started going "Ooooh Joker".

Oh where I live they thought it was the perfect ending since this was the prequel to Batman 89. :whatever:

A lot of people whistled and clapped and cheered after a short silence sprinkled with gasps. Personally, I froze over with wide open eyes and a smile crept up on me after a moment, my imagination running wild. I still vividly remember what I pictured in my head about the Joker in that moment. -- Wow, it's been 5 years and it's still as clear as ever. My memory isn't usually that good. Guess it's selective. :cwink:

Then the credits hit after he dove off the building into that epic glide with the rapid flappy bat wing sound :-)hrt:), and that god damn beautiful song (that I've coincidentally been listening to non-stop for like 3 days straight now :funny: ), which captured all the emotion I felt during the film so perfectly, began playing. That caused me to tear up a little bit. I was thoroughly moved.

A lot of people seemed to feel similarly as they walked out. Most of them had this look on their face and about their gait, as if they were empowered by the music.

A small, short gasp. The Joker just has the kind of effect on me. Who would have thought we would have gotten a Joker that good?

I was sitting mostly way back of the theater that I couldn't hear but when I bought the DVD on bootleg I could hear a whisper of someone saying "Joker".

Chalk that up to WB's piss-poor marketing.

The only way the WB could have made the non comic fans know it wasn't a prequel would be to go personally door to door to everyone in America and take about an hour to explain it to each every one of them.

Goosebumps. I was so into it i can´t even remember how the others in the theater reacted.

At the same time, i started to wonder wheter there would be another movie, or this was a symbolic ending to the Batman legacy with a calling card from his arch enemy.

All you heard was people telling everyone sitting around them "it's the Joker!" like they finally cracked a secret code and felt important by knowing that.

Well, my wife and nephew spoiled the end for me as they went opening night and I couldn't go till the next evening. That was horrible, as I had avoided spoiler up that point.

My reaction was much like Rusty Cage's though. I was on a true emotional high, after seeing the respect and dignity that Nolan and Goyer had treated the Batman mythos with, then getting that confirmation that Joker would indeed appear on screen in the next three years. And then when Gordon apologizes for never having said thank you and Batman telling him "And you'll never have to", then diving off the rooftop. Ooh, damn, that sent chills all over my body. Soooooooo badass.

The theater was buzzing. Big time. It was much like the magic trick scene with Joker in TDK. You could just feel the electricity in the audience and all of those nearly inaudible expressions of excitement amongst the movie goers came together to create a really awesome buzz. God, it was just great. Thank you Mr. Nolan.

I started obsessing over possible Joker characterizations immediately and dived nosefirst into rumorville as soon as I got back home. I've been a spoiler junkie ever since.

Sure they couldn't tell everyone, but they didn't do a good job of trying. Shortly after this film (and Superman Returns) they fired their marketing team.

Cheers. A few people were like wtf as well lol

You could feel the electricity in the theater as that card flipped over. It was magical.

Audience clapped and cheered. Didn't have that with the Dark Knight.

Well The Dark Knight didn't end nicely like Batman Begins. :D

There was applause at TDK's ending when I saw it.

I understand people not applauding at the end of TDK. It was an ending that leaves you petrified in awesomeness.

TDK's ending reaction was very satisfyingly mixed. Some people jumped out of their chairs cheering for Batman's choice (Gordon's speech definitely had impact) and because it was just such a damn good film, while other people were completely statue-esque, lost in the swirling thoughts that had been poured into their head, still buzzing from the rush of plot and action. You could see it in their faces.

I could tell that I looked exactly like the second group did, except the Bat-geek in me was probably orgasming about 20x harder. :funny:
