Comics What will the World Think?

This isn't a for or against thread. Those threads already exist. This is about what the average everyday Marvel citizien reaction to getting to know Peter Parker.

The mystery is over. Pete will most likely reveal his entire story. What is the world going to think?

Will they like him? Will they hate him? Will they not leave him alone or will they not give a rat's tushy?

I guess they'll drool over him for a little, make him sign autographs, maybe some will call for his head. Surely many people will like him more because they actually know someone's under the mask. I would even wager that Spidey will "steal the hearts" of some female fans. They'll make a few movies and get Peter's permission to make mechandise and such.

Heaven forbid we hear someone say, "Look up in the sky! It's Peter Parker!!!"

While I am against the whole unmasking storyline I am interested in the way the supporting cast i.e. JJJ, Flash etc will react. Well before they all develop amnesia and forget who Spidey is!

I can't wait to see how the people who've had contact with Peter and Spidey will react.

Think of his ex-girlfriends, mainly Betty Brant. I mean, she hates Spider-Man. Now she'll know that the man she thinks killed her brother was the guy she was dating at the time.

Think of Flash Thompson!! Especially since he's back into the Puny Parker mode...wait til he finds out that he's idolizing him!

I'd LOVE to see Robertson's reaction, and find out if he really HAS known all along or not.

We KNOW there's going to be more reaction from Jameson! ohhhhh that's gonna be tasty!


As for average citizens with no history with Peter or Spidey, I'd like to see average people ask favors of Peter when he's just out trying to get to work or something. Perhaps an old lady asks and EXPECTS Peter to help her carry her groceries for her just because he's strong? I want to see Peter get annoyed that he ever told anyone. Pete's never lived the Celebrity life outside of costume, but now he will. He will be flogged by Paparazzi and nosy citizens everywhere he goes now. I can't wait so see that angle played up.
