Comics whats happend to kingpin?

where has he gone off to? and also another question about him, was he originally a spdiey or daredevil badguy? i have essential spiderman volume 1, and it seems like that was his first appearence, if it was, how come hes become a daredevil villain instead?

He's now a Daredevil main villain and always appears there. He was last seen in prison with Matt Murdock, Punisher and Bullseye. His original appearance was in Spider-Man, yes.
