The Ragged Man, Book Four of the Twilight Reign by Tom Lloyd.

Currently the series' protagonist-Isak-is a hollow shell of a man, due to the torments he suffered in the pits of Ghenna (Hell). His bondsman, a harlequin, is trying to cope with the fact that he had to pledge his soul to the demon tormenting Isak in order to find a way to escape Ghenna. Soon Isak will discover that his wife sacrificed herself in Ghenna so that he and the Harlequin could escape.

Also, the antagonist is expanding his empire and amassing power enough to slaughter the Gods. A shadow reborn as a child is sending out harlequins as prophets to turn the people's worship toward Itself, away from the Gods. The Gods are pissed off, causing their closest follows to become consumed by a holy rage.

Very good if you want something epic and world-shattering.

Ive had an oddly difficult time finishing books lately. I don't know why, I cant really just choose a book and finish it. part of the problem was I had one book that I was reading at school and one that I was reading on the off chance I came home durring the past few months, both I was about halfway through, but now off school I cant really commit to either one. That and in the middle of this my girlfriend lent me a bunch of Transmetropolitan trades so I read all of those real quick.

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. I think this man was a genius. His books are both very funny and extremely profound. There are nuggets of truth that just hit you like a sock in the jaw, always delivered with a mix of irony and sincerity. I need to read more by this guy, quickly!

Read this in under three hours, which is rare for me; I usually don't finish a book 'til after a few weeks. Out of Ellis's work, I've read American Psycho, this and Rules of Attraction, and I love them all. Can't wait to check out his other stuff.

Confessor ~ Terry Goodkind

Terrific ending to a great series. The good guys have beautiful endings, just about all of which are touched upon, even having a few cameos from that hadn't been seen or touched up for several books, and the bad guys got what was coming to them. I loved it. Through out much of the series, I couldn't put these books down. I wish the show had continued to see how they interpreted them. I hope someone else tries doing them again as another tv series.

I started reading the Sword of Truth books a couple months ago, first three were great but after that it started to go downhill. It took me almost two months to get through Soul of the Fire, and I skipped most of the Anderith crap. Cara beating the ever living crap out of Fitch's friend and then proceeding to throw him off the cliff was probably one of the highlights of the book. Everything else was "meh," same goes for the ending.
