Yeah. I kinda wish he hadn't continued the story, since I thought the ending of Confessor was a perfect way to cap off series, even though I love the characters and the world itself, Confessor just left them all in a happy place and you could just picture them having a "happily ever after". It has me a little worried that things are gonna go nowhere but down for the characters, since The Law of Nines kinda hinted that Kahlen and Richard had a less than happy ending.

I always thought the way to revisit the world was for them to do it but during that world;s industrial revolution. Years after Richard is gone seeing a world used to magic starting to use steam power and such.

That would have been interesting. I'm even up for him continuing the story that he started in The Law of Nines, and maybe find a way to get Alex to visit the old world with Jax.

I hear ya man. Law of 9s made me think of the Old world in a new light. With things paralelling the current US made me start wondering if it was a north and south America thing the whole time. I even start comparing descriptions of places in the novels to real places in the US.

But think of it, an emerging industrial revolution in a world once dominated by magic. The end of Confessor hinted at their move to "effort saving machines" and The Omen Machine comes across as an old computer and magic.

finished book 5 of vampire academy last night, taking a break before i start the last one

now reading Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Knight of the Swords and Queen of the Swords by Michael Moorcock. I'm just starting on King of the Swords.

Just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy and now onto George Orwell's 1984

The last book I actually finished was probably Patricia Briggs' "Frost Burned"

I'm in the process of reading the Game of Thrones/Song of Ice & Fire books. I'm only on A Clash of Kings... I actually had to restart reading that one because I had started it some time ago but got sidetracked and by the time I got back around to it I realized I needed to start it from the beginning because I forgot what I'd already read *lol*

In addition to that (I'm splitting my reading time), I'm also reading the revised draft of my sister's story that will be hitting bookshelves Summer 2014 (via Disney-Hyperion and yes, I realize I'm doing shameless sibling-promotion :oldrazz:). It's called "Stitching Snow" (by R.C. Lewis), and the tag line is (I love this tagline) "Snow White in space if Snow White were a cage fighting tech head with daddy issues" - it's a Young Adult SciFi novel

Finished The King of the Swords; moving on to The Bull and the Spear by Moorcock.

Gun Machine by Warren Ellis

It's a really fun mystery novel. There's plenty of humorous moments and a really interesting story. My only issue is that the 'conspiracy' was pretty small scale, wrapping the mystery up a little too neatly.

Final Days by Gary Gibson

This one was promising, but ultimately all over the place, and pretty inconsistant overall. I liked it but, it seemed rushed out to hit a deadline, when it should've had some more streamlining.

Currently reading, this behemoth mother****er;
