The Magician's Guild by Trudi Canavan
The Novice by Trudi Canavan

Currently reading The High Lord which is book three of The Black Magician trilogy by Canavan. The first book, while well written was a very cliché fantasy story, the second was an improvement on the first, advanced the plot and added nice detail and more world building. The third at least so far seems to be an improvement on the second. I intend to get her other novels set in this universe as well.

I finished the third story of Mean Streets, the "The Third Death of the Little Clay Dog" which was written by Kat Richardson. I'd meant to start on "Noah's Orphans" next but I jumped the gun a bit.

The Little Clay Dog story was interesting but there were so many references to characters and events nonreaders would understand. It was still good enough for me to consider looking into the book series some day.

I did get into the first chapter of Noah's Orphans tonight though.

Finished The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries 2) by L.J. Smith last night. took about 2-3 days.

i don't understand how they made a show as good as they did from books as terrible as these. for once, the source material is far inferior to the tv/movie version
