Return of the Living Dead.
Sure, it suffers from the same climxz every zombie movie seems to have, but
making them smart enough to call in for more 'meat' was hilarious, and how the gas spreads was clever as well.
Good, low-budget shlock.
Wat u thunk?
X-Men First Class.
Absolutely brilliant. Finally a prequel that retroactively makes the original films (Singer's films at the very least) better.
5/5
Thanks. That simple emoticon. It means a lot to me. My soul went into that. I was just overcome with this depression and a sense of shame. The post was originally twice as long, but totally incoherent. It doesn't matter though, because writing it was incredibly therapeutic.
It was a good revenge thriller but I thought it kind of dropped the ball on the whole becoming what you hate/the monster theme. I also thought the movie was conflict on whether it wanted to be a serious thriller or very dark comedy. It definitely worked better when it had it's tongue in it's cheek especially when it came to the main character being an unstoppable super agent. Overall, I was entertain and definitely one of the better movies I've seen this year.

I liked it alot more the second time. Especially the first half, which I wasn't into as much as the last time. I love all of Erik's scenes. And just the whole suave 60's setting. Bacon seemed even better this time. His opening scene is still one of my favorites. It gives off a very Tarantino vibe. In terms of what happens and how and why they split up, it's done perfectly. Like dude love mentions, it makes Singer's films even better now. Like when Xavier mentions to Logan in X1 of how Erik became angry and thought humans could never coexist with mutants. Yet this film stands on its own as a great standalone and hopefully the start of another set of films. I want to see more of MacAvoy and Fassbender as these characters and where they go. As they make work for what I've always found fascinating of the dichotomy between the two characters. Everything not only enhances, but adds as well.
I still love the first two more, but I finally can have a trilogy watching now.
