The poster makes it look like a slick heist thriller but I just checked the trailer and it seems it's more of a wacky black comedy.

Yeah, the poster very misleading and it is more like an episode of Monk than heist movie.

Alien (1979)

I always find it funny that haters trash James Cameron's sequel "Aliens" as being nothing but a big dumb action movie while praising Ridley Scott's original "Alien" as some deep richly complex character study when at the end of the day it's really just a very well made sci-fi horror movie, just as Cameron's sequel is a well made sci-fi action horror movie.

Aliens used to be well liked, but after Avatar it became cool to hate James Cameron.

Yeah, but some people started hating him as far back as Titanic. It's not like the sleazy corporate guy in "Aliens" was any deeper or more complex than the sleazy corporate guy in "Avatar". Hell, the space truckers in Scott's "Alien" weren't exactly deep, multi-layered characters either, they were basically intergalactic garbage men (the actors themselves pretty much said the same thing).

The Disappearance of Alice Creed

An intense and involving thriller with a lot of unique twists and turns.
the only 3 actors in the film ,Gemma Arterton as Alice Creed,Martin Compston as Danny
& Eddie Marsan as Vic give bold and brave performances. Some of the film plays out to simply, but thats a minor flaw in this very good film.

Immortals

Bad editing, and some plot holes aside, this is a very good ,sword and sandals, blood and guts flick. If you're a fan of Sparticus on Starz you will love this movie.
Henry Cavill is good as Theseus, makes me look forward to his portrayal of Superman.
Stephen Dorff is good as the wise cracking Stavros,Freida Pinto as Phaedra is beyond beautiful,im still trying to find out who her body double was.
Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion,is beyond evil and was fun to watch.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1

Breaking_Dawn_Part_1_Poster.jpg

The trailer looked interesting so yes i sat through this in the theatre.
Unfortunately all of the interesting and almost edge of your seat moments happen toward the last 30 minutes of the movie.Sure there are some fun moments, with intentional and unintentional laughs.Yes i know these films are for the die hard fans who definitely swooned in the audience and obnoxiously blurted out plot twists. But i sat there for the most part waiting for something to happen.
There are some entertaining moments especially when the film enters Rosemary's baby territory, but it sure felt like a lot was edited to keep a PG-13 rating. The Wolves looked a bit more impressive this time around though some of the other SFX looked choppy.
I think i will leave Breaking Dawn part 2 to the die hards.

Atrocious

A very slow paced found footage film (and that's saying a lot) that had a dull payoff.
