The Abyss: Still my favorite Cameron movie after all these years. Ed Harris was great.

Eric the Viking (1989)

Ridiculous nonsense from the Monty Python guys, but still funny.

The Cabin In The Woods

The first hour is kind of awful, but I get the feeling a lot of it was supposed to be awful. It really comes into its own in the last third when they start throwing out everything but the kitchen sink. Definitely one of the best concepts for a horror film in a while.

The Incredible Hulk. You know, I'm pretty sure Hulk says "NO!" on the table when he's injected with the antidote.

Iron Man 2. I still like it better than Iron Man, but only by a smidgen.

8/10

Best horror film I've seen in ages.

The Hunger Games

It was okay.

Thor. It was great the way they explained that Asgardians were just an advanced race that humans worshiped as gods. Made perfect sense.

And thank god they did, or else my friend's Jehovah's Witness mother wouldn't have let him see it.

Fantastic Four
It's fun 7/10

Climax battle is maximum wrong. Supernova? And not only Doom survives and only his armor is welded, no one around had the least skin burn or even a tan, dried skin, lost an eye, not even a sweat

Seeing Doom's armor hinges moving in the sequel made things worse

Justice League: Doom

I do like these animated films, but some of these, this one in particular, feel like watching a two part episode of Justice League. I wished they'd use these as a sandbox and play around with them a bit.

The Cabin in the Woods

The Cabin in the Woods starts off with the basic horror plot, college age group heads to a cabin for fun times, meet a creepy guy along the way.He says some cryptic stuff about the cabin...blah blah blah.I should have know TCITW would be anything but basic with Joss Whedon as a co writer.
With it's plot twists, and unique turns TCITW is entertaining and then some.
The last half reminded me of some of my horror favorites like Wax Work,Phantasm and The Evil Dead.
Director Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon provide so much the film gets a bit jumbled towards the end,but that doesnt stop it from being a fun and involving film.In fact its so involving ,when the character Marty Mikalski (Fran Kranz ) talks about a wish he has ,i found myself saying me too man!!
Scale of 1-10 an 8

LOCKOUT

Luc Besson and FilmDistrict present Escape From New York...in Space!!....err...LOCKOUT
Guy Pearce is great as Snow an ex government agent, sent to rescue the presidents daughter Emilie Warnock(Maggie Grace) from a space prison after things go terribly wrong during her fact finding mission aboard the the prison.
Loved Snow's one liners and the banter between Snow and Emile.
Joseph Gilgun as Hydell is semi intimidating as a dead eye psycho prisoner, but i never felt like Snow or Emile were in any real danger.
The SFX for the most part are beyond cheesy.
Im all for suspending disbelief when it comes to the hero/heroine in an action film surviving daring feats, but when a character survives something that would put SuperMan into a coma thats just beyond implausible.
Scale of 1-10 a 5½

Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day

Going in i thought the film would be extremely preachy, but thankfully it wasnt.Unfortunately the script is extremely predictable. The acting was a bit stiff but i was still entertained, and its still fun to watch Pam Grier do her thing.
Scale of 1-10 a 7

Old School-7/10

The Hangover-9/10

Watching them back-to-back shows how much better The Hangover is. This was the 5th or 6th time I've seen The Hangover, and I still picked up great subtle jokes I hadn't noticed before. Old School's funny, but the "big laughs" are all there is to it, and the characters are pretty basic applications of the Animal House formula.
