Has it's faults but has a great atrmosphere and look that captures a bygone era. 7/10

Revenge

Hard to believe that this is the same actress from Rings. Stylish, visually gorgeous and unapologetically brutal B-movie.

8/10

I need to rewatch The Shadow so badly, actually haven't seen it since it's release at the cinema. I read the comic in the 70s when Batman and The Shadow met though (a great story), which makes it even more slightly embarresing.

Superfly (1972)

Been meaning to see this for decades, and FINALLY adjusted that error. Have to say though, I expected this to be more like other blaxplotion flicks of this era, like Shaft or the ones that Pam Grier ( :hmr::hmr::hmr::hmr::hmr: ) starred in, with more high stakes and lots of action. This felt surprisngsly more like a slower crime/heist drama, although it had some cool fighting scenes.

But that awesome early 70s atmosphere with the clothes, ginormous Cadillacs (also a Volvo 164 in a robbery scene..) and cool hairdos still was there. Some contemporary social commentaries as well. And of course a great soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield, whom we even got to see live in a night club scene with his band full of great musicians. Anyways, a cool story about someone trying to get out of the criminal life just after that final great deal that will set one free.

Unbreakable (2000)

It's the third time watching this, waiting for "Mr Glass" to be released (the surprising ending of the great Split of course upped the ante). I've forgot how great this movie is - and that's outside the whole "OMG, the concept is about superheroes !!!11" thing - but rather the whole atmosphere, pacing, story etc. Great interaction between Jackson and Willis here. The kid playing the son was great as well.

I also appreciate little details like Mr. Glass's car; A former Checker cab that's been customized with lots of padding just for his special needs etc etc. I've gotten way too old and crass to get hyped about blockbuster/action/CBM/Sci-fi etc movies anymore (I have higher expectations regarding smaller/drama movies these days ), but If Shayamalan, Willis and & keep their ambitions and performances this high for the upcoming sequel, this might a be a great cinema experience.

Lucky Number Slevin

The twists are sort of predictable but I liked the writing and the back and forth dialogue even if it gets too cute with itself at times.

Death of Superman
Bad moms christmas

6/10

Probably my favourite entry in the series with arguably it's best action sequence to date, the final scene still gets me in the feels. 9/10

Rewatched Pocahontas II which wasn't as bad as I thought before. It's a lot more "cartoony" than the first film but that's not too bad. I did dislike the songs, though, aside from the villain's song.

Crazy Rich Asians

Went in expecting a cheesefest and was pleasantly surprised. Suburban theatre was packed on a Wednesday night.

Akwafina is hilarious and got the biggest laughs.

Back To The Future 1-3.

Still as fun as at the cinema back then.
