Keep in mind, I work at a Rite Aid. But lately I've heard sales haven't been so good, and I've been wondering if something is a miss. I only know my store, and not other ones, but I wonder what is everyone's POV of Rite-Aid?

It's a drug store, the only reason I'd go in there is to get drugs. Nothing else in there I can't get somewhere else.

They've saturated the market with the stores. There's too many of them, and there's nothing there that you can't do better at the pharmacies at Wal-Mart, Target or the grocery store.

I used to work at one of the printing plants that have their flyers printed...I made up 665 boxes by myself by hand, all bottoms taped up and labels on each one..took me 10 hours out a 12 hr shift...so the problem with Rite Aid is they want too many boxes for store copies!!

Agreed wholeheartedly.

In my home town there is a Walgreens directly across from a CVS the CVS was built in front of a RiteAid.

There's no reason to have all of these "Pharmacies" that sell the exact same thing as a grocery store wth a pharmacy. Pharmacies used to be valuable when it was your source of cocained up Coca-Cola.

is it a drug store or like Walgreens?

That's exactly what it is. Except Rite Aid has less stuff & higher prices on certain items when compared to Walgreens. But they do have that ice cream shop deal going for them that's in the front.

I had a friend that managed a Rite Aid for a couple months, and he told me one of the most common items people came in for were enemas. I lol'd. It may just have been his store, I don't really know.

in downtown oakland there's a Rite-Aid right across the street from Wallgreens,so if one store wont have what i need...I'll GO TO THE OTHER.awesome

I do like the ice cream at rite-aid

They need to put strippers in Right Aid, and free lap dances if you buy at least 20 dollars of their over-priced crap. That'll bring business back up

The last Rite-Aid in the area was shut down over a decade ago and made into an Outback Steakhouse. It's all about CVS now...

I miss Eckerd's. :(

I love my Rite-Aid. They know me by name and have my stuff ready for me at the counter when they see me walk in. If something is weird about the scirpt that they get they either fix it so it's cheaper for me or call me and we work it out. Of course that's a direct reflection of the staff at that particular Rite-Aid. There are one or two prescriptions we kept at Wal-Mart because they were noticably cheaper at Wal-Mart, but if the price is the same or one a buck or two different I'll go to Rite-Aid. But, again, it's because of the staff not the store. I refuse to go to our CVS because the staff there are a bunch of *****e canoes.

I have a Rite Aid on the corner and my only problem with them is they used to sell the ice cream for 25 cents back when they were still separated from Thrifty's, but then when they merged with them, it just kept rising, and now a single scoop is like $1.67

They did the same thing next to my house. It's crazy. Someone spray painted "Why the **** do we need two of these?" On the building when it was under construction.

They also have a Home Depot and Lowes right across from each other here.

"Ha ha! Terrible drug store toys! I'll see to it that no child receives this gifts which have been hastily bought on the way to the party!"

RiteAid has ice cream.

But yeah, I don't see any reason why CVS and Walgreens are doing any better.

Other than customer loyalty.

1.Expensive
2.Crap products
3. Lazy workers
4.Perv workers
5.workers who break your stuff, then say you broke it, and won't pay you for their damages to stuff you own.

I love Rite Aid. For some reason, it carries brands that are exclusive to that store, which was smart, because that's the only appeal they carry over CVS, for me :o

I don't really buy food from Walgreens/CVS, just bathroom-based stuff or the occasional Hostess snack cake.

I get my drugs at Wal-Mart. No one asks about you buying 24 bottles of cough medicine.

To tell you the truth, guys, our sales still isn't that good. Since we deal with corporate everyday, they are going to come up with ideas, insane ones I will add. (One thing to mention: we told them that about the other Rite-Aids, that our compitetion IS other Rite-Aids, and they don't buy that). We've had school stuff on sale for a while now, now we have Halloween about to be set up, and soon it will be Christmas. We're hoping sales will climb, but there is always that fear.

Suggestions? Ideas? Anyone from retail that could offer advise?
Now and then, I feel like suggesting to my boss "going to the mattresses" (from The Godfather, meaning "going to war").

they did the same thing for my area too, we had rite aid for years, then a CVS was built right across the street, both open 24 hours. then last year they built a Walgreens a half a block up the road too, but that one is only open till about midnight tho :(.
