Well, we're all sitting around bored waiting for this dry spell of news to end, so I figured, lets make a game out of it. When do you think the casting of Dent, which is almost certainly the next big announcment for this movie, will be officially revealed (as in, press release).

Well filming starts early next year right? So...January...?

Well Michael Caine said he starts shooting in March, and I think there was talk of preliminary shooting in January, but Nolan himself said shooting begins in February. I guess it all depends on how big Dent's role is, and whether or not he's in a lot of scenes.

how long prior to filming was, say, Liam Neeson cast? I'm just guessing, but Dent's role will likely be comparable to Ra's's as far as screen time . . . .

I'll guess late December or January.

I'm thinking before Christmas. At least I hope anyway.

Probably sometime between Jan-March.

that all sounds about right . . . which kind of screws my 'theory' . . . . seems like screen time didn't really have much bearing on when the respective cast member was official; of course, sometimes they may choose an actor, only to have the part declined and then move on, etc., etc.

anyway . . . . I think we'll know by the end of the year *shrugs*

A month and a half ago.

I'd expect the news to role in around Jan.

Middle to around the end of January or early February.

I think he'll be cast three days after the apocalypse.

obviously before filming starts we will hear something so i will guess, january

My best guess is New Year's Eve. Because of the role's poularity, this would certainly give it the right magician's flourish for a film like this.

They never actually confirmed Murphy was playing Scarecrow until months later.:cwink:

Remember this? Variety without us knowing it gave away the twist.

Neeson & Freeman Confirmed for Nolan's Batman!

Source: Variety February 19, 2004

Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson are confirmed to have joined the cast of Warner Bros.' new Batman film, reports Variety.

Freeman will play Lucius Fox, a respected businessman and the CEO of billionaire Bruce Wayne's mega-conglom, based in Gotham City. Liam Neeson plays the villain, Ra's Al Ghul, a wealthy international terrorist.

Christian Bale stars as the Caped Crusader in the Christopher Nolan-helmed project which will start shooting March 16 in London. Also cast are Michael Caine (as butler Alfred), Cillian Murphy and Katie Holmes.
Liam Neeson is NOT Ra's Al Ghul in Batman

Source: Variety February 20, 2004

In a bit of a blunder, Variety reported yesterday that Liam Neeson was playing the villain, Ra's Al Ghul, in Christopher Nolan's Batman.

The trade has now issued a correction, saying that Neeson instead is playing Henri Ducard, mentor to Bruce Wayne in the Warner Bros. film.

This brings us back to square one with the villains. All we know is that Cillian Murphy is a villain in the film, but the studio has not disclosed who.

I hope they announce it before the end of the year. But i think they might take the same approach as with Superman Returns and announce the main cast in January.

Kevin Spacey, Bosworth, Laurie, Marsden and Huntington were all cast in January '05.

Well, if the shooting starts in Feb, I think Dent will be cast before X-Mas.

He could be cast already, My guess is if that is true, he might have a movie coming out soon, and they might try to wait till around that time before releasing the news

like if it's Dicaprio, Blood Diamond comes out in 2 weeks
If it where like a Clive Owen, when children of men comes out
If for some odd reason it where Will Smith, Pursuit of Happiness
Jude Law has a movie coming out soon
Matt Damon-Good Shepherd

Just an interesting thought, if that where to be the case those are some actors that we have disscussed in this forum from time to time that have movies coming out
