When Gordon was killed I was like GASP! I couldnt believe they did that. when he came back and pulled the mask off to reveal he was still alive myself along with half the theater started clapping and cheering. I was wondering what your reactions were to this scene. BTW im sorry if this is already been discussed. I just saw the movie for the first time today. also what was your reaction to rachels death. thx

Same response...the place exploded with applause!

It certainly wasn't smart to market the hell outta scenes featuring Gordon, that's for sure. Just the scenes of Gordon at the jail, and breaking the batsignal alone, were a huge hint that his death was far from real.

I've been following the hype for this movie since the very beginning and it totally caught me off-guard when he 'died'. Then when he came back I remembered all the scenes he was yet to be in...

It kinda worked that way with me. Although not really :o

I didn't remember the scenes that I already knew about which hadn't happened yet, but I just knew lol. Gordon doesn't die. He. Just. Doesn't.

:oldrazz:

I was baffled for two or three minutes, then I remembered the trailer. Too bad. But the pace of the movie was so fast that it still took me by surprise when he came back.

that's one little thing I didn't buy from the movie....I never thought he was dead !

I didn't like that he lied about his death to his wife and child. I mean who does that?

I guess someone who really does love them, because he really did think they were in danger. For just one moment there, I thought the spoilers were wrong and he did die, because it would be a little much to not let your family in the whole thing. Then I remembered the trailers, but was still surprised Gordon showed up when and where he did.

i watched it again last night and i realised that gordon was the one driving the armoured van. i cant believe i didnt catch that before!!

I love this movie with every fiber of my being, but I have to be honest here. The second I saw a SWAT guy with a mask totally obscuring his face, I saw it coming. I just KNEW they wouldn't really kill off Jim Gordon. No matter how great the movie was there no doubt would have been countless comic book geeks on the net gnashing their teeth about it and I saw none of that prior to finally seeing TDK. Also, the first full trailer showed us that Gordon was involved with arresting the Joker.

I envy the people who were truly surprised by it.

when people saw the guy in the mask at first they thought it was either Joker or one of his Goans we knew he was coming back but any one that didnt follow this movie for months and watch the trailers a billion times before actually catching the movie was shocked and hell i even baught he died especially with batman visiting his family lol so it was extreamly well done and got a huge applous

When i saw him lying like that, i was like "oh my gosh! They can't kill Gordon off! He's one of the best characters in the comic book universe!

When he came back and saved Batman......WHAT AN AWESOME TWIST! Gary Oldman at his finest!!!!!!:woot::wow:

I realized that! My brother didnt until the 4th time we saw it lol
He was like---why didnt you tell me!!!!:woot: I thought he'd made the connection :oldrazz:

its funny how the other guy is all doggin on him--you better know how to drive buddy! Why we stoppin!! lol

He did it to protect them. Joker made it very clear early on in the film that there wasn't anyone he couldn't get to...the judge, Loeb. He would've surely gone after Gordon's family to get to him (hell, remember TKJ and what he did to Barbara?).

I would've done the exact same thing Gordon did.

3 out of the 4 times I've seen it the Gordon=alive reveal got cheers.

I had seen all the trailers and read all the spoilers. I knew Gordon was going to fake his death, but I was still thought it was cool to see him as the driver of the van.

I went the second time to see it with my buddy last night. He was like woh when Gordon appeared again. The audience clapped too.

Like mentioned before the average person was probably pretty surprised about it.

I think more people had a reaction when Gordons wife slapped him lol. Everyone was like wtf?!?! then they kissed and everyone was like...oh ok.

I probably would have done the same :oldrazz:

I KNEW Gordon wasn't dead when he got shot... Why??? Because there had been seen clips in the trailers from later on in the movie where he was present, so that one wasn't a surprise to me... But everything else in the movie I couldn't predict! :)

I KNEW he wasn't dead! How could he be??
But was sad, because he interrupted The Joker when he was about to beat the Bat!

I still cannot believe that with such a quick and meaningless death sequence people actually thought he was dead.

The overacting by Gordon's wife didn't exactly sell it.
