Days of Future Past When is this supposed to be set?

Just wondering since we're seing Xavier and Lehnsherr in younger versions and it is not really clear when the first X-MEN is set. Just the future.

The 70's, 80's?

I'm just thinking about production- and costume-design. etc. And are we gonna see mullets and other bad hairdos?

Well, I think it's generally decided that all three of the X-Men films are set somewhere between 2004 and 2007.

x-men 1 to 3 was set somewhere in the middle of 2005 so i doubt that, if anything your looking at an 80's version of the younger characters.

In fact, there is no singular range of time that everyone can agree that FC will take place as it would appear (based on the ages of the actors), that this movie may cover at least three different periods of time.

According to the timeline from the first three movies, the time where Xavier actually builds the school would have to take place somewhere in the early 80's. Of course this may not necessary be the same time where he forms the X-Men.

well actually the school was his family home so i dont think he would of built it then but i suspect it will be more about the school than it will be about the x-men. Mostly why xavier needed an x-men

Yeah, I'm talking when he converts it into The School For Gifted Youngsters and actually uses it for keeping mutants safe.

Mid-to-late 80's is my guess, though there probably won't be much to actually date the movie, besides the WWII stuff they might deal with for Magneto's origins

Well, the majority of the movie is expected to be set in the late 60's, but we don't know exactly how much time will be spent there...

I'm guessing various times as it will probably show Xavier and Magneto first meeting, becoming friends, building the school, recruiting students and falling out.

i'm thinking it'll be set in the 80s by the time xavier starts to recruit the x-men.
