Man Piper passing hurts deeply.

He was one of my favorites to watch. Easily one of the best promos in history of the business. I have so many fond memories watching him as a kid.

RIP peace Hot Rod!

You knew what just dawned on me, the wwe can't even use one of his greatest moments mania 1 to honour him because hogan had to screw up so much

Thoughts, prayers and condolences for Hot Rod's family and loved ones. We've lost another icon.

Damnit to hell, we lost a lot of good guys this year. This and Dusty really hurt the most of all. :(

Last weekend I was watching when Piper came to WCW to take on Hollywood Hogan. His promos were great (as always). No matter how old...every time he picked up a microphone I just grinned ear to ear and ate it up.

I was lucky enough to see "Piper's Pit" live once (though I barely remember it) and yesterday I wore my "Hot Rod" shirt to work. I don't even wear wrestling shirts when I don't go to shows but yesterday I just wanted to wear it.

I'll miss Piper. One of the best.

Just heard the sad news of Pipers passing. A few years back, i had the opportunity to meet him. He took his time with everyone, and was easily oneida the nicest and best meet and greets I've ever had with a wrestler.

Rip Hot Rod

So he's basically resigned to the fact that the best workers in the company usually don't get their due, so they need a B brand?

That's actually really, really sad.

I thought the brand split was one of the worst things the WWE ever did. At one point that company was promoting three world champions in one damn promotion; that's about the only way they could make their titles even more meaningless than they already are.

And who is he kidding? If they did the brand split again Cena would dominate one brand while Orton dominated the other.

Nah they were already letting Bryan be the face of Smackdown before his injury and the ratings were going up because of the ratings and it was his personal pitch to the company to let him work with said talents and build a set of stars.

I mean, what's Orton doing right now? Feuding with Sheamus while Rollins, Owens, Cesaro, and Ambrose have been the focus of Smackdown for weeks now.

WWE does a lot of questionable things and downright dumb/counterproductive things but considering how little they care about Smackdown, they were already letting him be on top on Smackdown and likely would have happily let him go through with his intentions so he'd be able to help circumvent the hatred towards Reigns at the time.

What a heel man, elite on the mic. HOF.

RIP Pipper

Always gave me goosebumps because you knew everything was gonna go off the rails.

:( Ouch.

When the Wrestling Thread got the answers, HE changed the questions.

This.
We lost a class act today. Roddy always came across as unhinged, crazy, a lunatic. But you could tell that behind all that, he was a professional. He could talk on the mike, hit Snooka in the head with a coconut, and shake hands with the fans. He was truly one of a kind, always coming out of left field. RIP Hot Rod. I hope they play Amazing Grace on the bagpipes at his funeral.

Dear God,

If you give us Roddy Piper, Warrior, and Dusty back, we'll give you Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, and whatever is left of Nash and Hunter's quads.

Sincerely, The Wrestling Thread.

EDIT: P.S. We'll also give you Hogan and Dixie Carter.

Another legend...another mic master.

R.I.P. Roddy.

Now Piper? Warrior,Dusty and Piper all within a year :(
