The Avengers Where they have gone wrong with the avengers project so far

Well, that proves you know absolutely nothing. Do your homework first, kid.
Well like I said, I only had Captain America and the Avengers the arcade to play at the bowling alley and Thor wasn't even IN that game. Which always made me think of him as a loser. Cause Hawkeye was in it and Hawkeye isn't even that badass.

So, base on old arcade game, you share your ''brilliant'' opinions about the marvel universe or, in this case, about Thor.
You're only embarrassing yourself here again and again.

The problem is your trying to speak authoritatively about something you've shown yourself to know very little about. Their abilities, relationships, roles, etc.

You may have a point in there somewhere but its getting drowned out by the nonsense. Either that or your not getting what you mean across very well at all.

Then why are commenting something you barely know anything about and acting like you actually know it?

I was sticking up for the recast of Banner by pointing out that of all the solo films leading in to the Avengers, TIH was probably the least important of them. Iron Man 2 includes major setup as to what the initiative is looking for and what it may consist of so the Iron Man series is very important, Captain America (I assume) is going to have a plot point that is going to lead into or be resolved in The Avengers, and Thor is a character somewhat unfamiliar to the GA, and a bit complicated since he brings otherworldly elements to the series, hence why his own solo film is important.

People know who the Hulk is, they know he doesn't enjoy being a heartbeat away from pandemonium at all times, and there was all ready a film of him within a decade from The Avengers release. Therefore, if someone had to be recast before The Avengers film came out, it's probably best it's Banner since TIH is the least pivotal of those movies.

You seemed to me (and apparently everyone else too) to be saying that TIH was not important at all.

Theres a big difference in it being the "least" important (which is debatable) and it not mattering at all.

If you had went with this post in the first place I don't think many would have a negative reaction, maybe even agreed. Most of the rest of what you said is still way off kilter though.

Whether or not Thor is just a regular guy with a hammer is a debate for another day (he is), the real question none of you have answered is:

How does TIH -- aside from the tacked on Tony Stark afterward -- do any better a job correlating to the Avengers movie than the 2003 HULK film? If they wanted to keep Eric Bana on board and released a special edition dvd of HULK with a similar Tony Stark scene at the end, the characters position going into Avengers would be no different.

I'm not saying there aren't dramatic story elements in the 2008 TIH film, but that film's story is still the one least necessary to be told leading up to the Avengers -- especially considering it's a fighting story.

dude.... SHIELD had an enormous part in TIH. watch closely.

Not a fighting story.

You mistake a "fighting story" with a "story that includes fight" way too easily.

Drop general assumptions and look more carefully.

Why are people even taking this guy seriously? He's a joke account. That should be obvious by now.

The only thing that disappointed me, and i mean, REALLY disappointed me, was the exclusion of Hank and Jan Pym at SDCC, which i suppose means they wont be in the movie. This was cemented further when i saw how well the writers use them in the animated series.

I love both those characters, and i was hoping that a live action movie would finally establish Hank as an important character to the Avengers mythos, in the eyes of the general public (and the occasional ignorant fan)...

Alas, it wasnt meant to be, i guess.

But i'll still be there in line on opening night. :yay:

tbh most if not all of the knowledge I have of The Avengers comes from the 'Captain America and the Avengers' arcade game that used to be at the bowling alley I grew up in.

I stopped reading right there.

Absolutely no-one who's gleaned their knowledge from an arcade game can seriously come on here and expect to be able to tell us, the regular readers of the source material, about who these characters are and what they represent.

Wow, there is some classic stuff going on in here.

Arcade game?!?! Bwahahahaha!

There's only 2 options for ultimatejustin:

a) he's really dumb
b)it's a joke account

I would like to believe option b, but I'm afraid it might be option a. Either way I got a pretty good laugh reading the last couple of pages.

Eh. Theres usually not much going on the times i'm on. Sheer boredom.

Might not be a joke account though. I never underestimate the potential for ignorance on the internet, its boundless.

It's got to be a joke. It simply has to be.

I mean, it's like me going on a specialist TMNT forum and telling the regular posters all about the characters because, y'know, I had the game when I had a NES back in the day.

If it's not a joke it's sad as hell because the guys clearly delusional.

Definately sad.
Scale it back a bit, partna.

You don't want to awaken the fatal tiger. Back to topic, everything I've said still stands aside from Thor's hammer, which wikipedia says is can turn into a walking stick. So we were all right, n our own ways.

I'm going with sad now, too.

In all seriousness UJ, go read up on the Avengers a little and then come back. I'm going out on a limb, but I don't think playing an arcade game is the best way to brush up on Avengers' history.
