geesus I know its the norm for fanbois to hate Fox but wishing a movie to fail before one lick of information comes out about it is kinda drastic.

If this movie fails it will be a long time til Marvel gets around to making a DD movie...they are concentrating Avengers movies

Actually, I don't take it from a position of "fanboy," but as a fan of well-made films, which isn't possible at FOX due to push-back against directors from management. It's no coincidence that the Oscar-nominated films from Fox have been from the hands-off Searchlight division.

Check out my fan-made poster!

If Marvel/Disney ever get the rights back to X-Men!

based on......?

Producer Peter Chernin, whose production office is literally the recycle bin for Tom Rothman's worst ideas. The guy just makes whatever the studio head tells him to, from the lame Planet of the Apes remake to the mindnumbing industry low points like developing the E-Trade babies adventure movie (in development).

Writer David Scarpa, another do-what-he's-told hack who just ripped off movies like John Carpenter's Starman for his Day the Earth Stood Still script instead of actually going back to the 50's film, the story it was based on or any original ideas.

Director David Slade, who leaps at hack fill-in work like the Twilight films for the right price and they still have to bring in outside editors to clean up his mess.

I mean, really, with this being Fox and all I just mentioned... Why in the world would I be excited for this?

Not true at all. If it fails, Fox will be more likely than ever to let the rights lapse or sell them back to Marvel. And who cares if the movie franchise gets cold, because Marvel could do the series more justice as a TV show anyway.

i want them to get the silver surfer back and stop letting him rot on the shelf at fox. with dc's green lantern coming out, now is the time for the cosmic characters to flood the market. so far we got thor and gl, now i want to see the silver surfer soaring the cosmos. i got a tease in the fantastic four movie but i want the silver surfer now at the head of his own movie.

or how about an inhumans movie. i still like the story about when the kree come back to earth to take the inhumans, and use them as weapons.

Another Hypester brought to my attention that Silver Surfer isn't a package deal with FF, but considering that Fox was able to sit on DD for over 7 years and keep him I doubt that SS will find his way back home regardless of what happens.

If I remember correctly they had to deal to get SS in the movie...which means Fox has the rights and maybe even longer than FF

Inhumans is in development at Marvel Studios (aka Disney).

Who knows what Fox is doing (if anything) with FF and SS.

I wouldn't be the least bit disappointed if X-Men continues to evolve as a totally separate entity at Fox. I'd sure as hell like to see them re-up certain characters to give them their proper due (Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, Angel, Juggernaut, Rogue, Gambit, Deadpool for starters), but otherwise, I regard the separation of the X-Universe from the 616 Universe as pretty much "canon" anyway.

Despite the Avengers and the rest of Marvel *ostensibly* being part of the same universe as the X-Men, the simple truth is that rarely the twain shall meet. If the X-Men have a major crossover crisis, the Avengers are NEVER around to give them a hand or intervene; and vice versa: the X-Men always sit on the sidelines whenever the Avengers are busy saving the Universe from certain destruction.

My only fervent wish is that Marvel Disney gets the rights to Wanda and Pietro before Fox tries to absorb them into the Magneto mythos...Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver belong more to The Avengers than to Mags.

You read my mind or my previous post, either way let us hope that somehow Slade runs out of time, Fox gives up and the whole works reverts back to Marvel.

I'd be excited just to hear him mentioned in a Marvel Studios production at this point.

Now that you mention it, is Moon Knight an official Marvel Studios property? If the worse comes to fruition and Fox keeps a lock on DD I'll gladly take Moon Knight as our go to street guy in the already growing universe we've been presented to.

The problem is that as much as I love Moon Knight I just don't see them having much faith in it or people giving it a chance, unfortunately. Most people will not want to go see it on the basis of it being a Batman knockoff. But I think they can build to Moon Knight like theyve used their current films to build up to eachother. If Daredevil can't be used I'm gonna say that a Luke Cage: Hero for Hire flick might be our best bet for getting a line of Marvel street level movies off the ground.

I still understand why DD's rights aren't reverted back to Disney/Marvel yet; did Fox find another loophole that lets them keep a property indefinitely without doing anything with it for almost a decade?

Agreed, but we're probably screwed

The Fantastic Four desperately needs to be brought back.

If you could choose only one franchise whose rights would go back to Marvel, and thus, be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Iron Man, Hulk, etc., which would it be?

I'd go with X-men. I want an original X-men movie that features the true team, gives Cyclops a meaningful role, and isn't overshadowed by Wolverine.

spiderman easily, there has not been a good one made yet.Batman got redeemed through Batman Begins, now if they could only do the same thing with spidey by marvel producing it.Its a travesty sony got a hold of the rights instead of marvel like it should be.

There was no Marvel Studios when Sony got a hold of the rights. The real "travesty" was that crap house Cannon Films getting Spidey back in the '80's.
