Which Green Lantern should be used? - Part 2

probably just messing around but there's this

Hal made me a green lantern fan but I just want some news already, so if it's announced that John will be the movie GL, that's cool. Just as long as his character is an amalgamation of John and Hal.

Give the Hal/Sinestro dynamic to John and I will be cool with John being used

Stewart is the one that's going to be used, it wont be Jordan after that mess of a movie. Tyrese as GL Stewart is a terriable. I hope to god theirs nothing to it. Please WB their are to many talented black actors out there to consider Tyrese.

I remember when people believed Justin Beiber was in BvS because he tweeted a photo of him holding up an obviously fake script.

I still think that next Green Lantern movie should include both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

There's no reason why they could not have both of them in the movie, show Hal as GL having some experience and as the story progresses, show back story of John Stewart and how he becomes GL.

I think the Tyrese rumor is BS. WB would never allow an actor to publicly announce or hint that he is going to an audition or a meeting with executives for a potential role in one of their biggest movie franchises. They usually keep that top-secret every time. Yes, I know The Rock did something similar before, but he never flat-out said "I'm hoping to play this character" like Tyrese did. If this was a rumor that got started by many reliable sources, like it did with Aquaman, I would've been more inclined to believe it, but the fact that he decided himself to post it on his social media pages tells me it's bullcrap. WB doesn't usually work this way. And if it does turn out to be true, not my first choice for the role at all. Stewart shouldn't look like a stand-up comedian. I think WB should give Jordan another chance after they took that huge dump on him last time. The general public should not remember Hal Jordan this way.

Edit: You know, the more I think about this, the more I'm convinced it's actually true. He just post another pic with "20|20 I am fully committed to suit up for this adventure". Now, if he was lying about this whole thing, why would he be aware of when the movie comes out? He wouldn't care about details like that if he wasn't associated in any way with it. So for now I'm inclined to believe this story. Very disappointing to say the least, I hoped they would give Hal another chance and better portrayal this time especially considering they seemed to be going with the New 52 Justice League line-up, but they probably thought they should get away from the 2011 movie as much as possible and from a recognition standpoint, it does makes sense to go with John Stewart. I'm not pleased neither by this, nor the casting choice but of course I will give it a chance. I can only hope they make a better movie this time.

Well we know when the movie comes out as well, but doesn't mean we're involved in the film. We, like Tyrese, are just fans who know easily accessible information. I don't think he's lying. He's just campaigning hard for the role, which I doubt will work. Not that I have anything against him, but I just firmly believe WB is going to go with a bigger and more credible name.

I think yes, Tyrese is promoting himself...

He posted the second image with this:
"I am fully committed to suiting up for this adventure" - @Tyrese #GL

"In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!!!

this has gone from annoying to extremely pathetic

go do more crappy transformer and fast/furious movies and stay away from the DC Universe

Fast Five is better than anything in the DC universe, barring Begins and TDK.

But yes, no Tyrese.

I like the Fast and Furious series but I don't think Tyrese is right for GL. If he wants to lobby for the role more power to him. I've never seen that work though.

Well they brought Gal Gadot from the FF franchise, at this point I don't think it's above WB do bring Tyrese, too.

If he were having talks with WB two options:
-he won't be saying all this, at least things changed only for this last character, which I doubt....
-he would be doing a Momoa.

Secret Origins #9 Review
For the first time ever, John Stewart’s origin is re-imagined. This is a really big deal. Before now, the only time a John Stewart origin story was told was the 1971 Green Lantern/Green Arrow story by Neal Adams and Denny O’Neil that introduced the character. For quite some time, fans did not know how John came by his power ring, because that story has since been wiped out of continuity. Also, in debates about Green Lantern’s role in the DC Cinematic Universe, Hal Jordan fans have argued that John Stewart cannot be done without Hal Jordan, because John’s previous origin relied on Jordan’s presence. With the New 52 continuity washing away much of John’s past, Green Lantern Corps writer Van Jensen uses the opportunity to remedy some of the perceived issues that have been holding John back.

Van Jensen has certainly earned the right to pen this incredibly crucial part of John Stewart’s lore. Jensen has taken the time and interest in extensively researching John Stewart’s history. He has read every (or practically every) key appearance and run for the character. He has watched and studied the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoon series. He has touched base with John Stewart’s fans and knows what they want to see and what they don’t. He is the ultimate John Stewart writer. There is no one I would trust more to write John Stewart’s revised origin than Van Jensen, and he doesn’t disappoint me here. He pulls through with flying colors. If you’re a John Stewart fan then this origin story is sure to please you.

Both. A grizzled Hal Jordan trains a rookie John Stewart (who is the audience surrogate) before taking the mission to hunt down Sinestro for going rogue.

Take elements from Training Day and the first Men In Black and make this a gritty buddy cop space opera.

What do you mean a Hal and John team-up should be inspired by Training Day? That would make more sense for Hal and Sinestro teaming up, since Sinestro is the one that turns out to be a dick.

But I've never understood the rush to get Sinestro to be the villain in the first movie of a series. He's something that should be built up to, show his time in the Corps, Jordan telling the Guardians how he keeps Korugar in line, being banished, starting his Corps. That's what makes Sinestro special.

I'm expecting Hal Jordan but I wouldn't mind seeing John Stewart or even Kyle Rayner.

I really don't want Guy Gardner though.

I'm going with Hal Jordan because of his relationships with Sinestro and Star Sapphire.
