Which Green Lantern should be used? - Part 2

I'm going with Hal Jordan because of his relationships with Sinestro and Star Sapphire.
Exactly. Not to mention the Parallax storyline where Hal goes bad, and the fact that Hal is at the very center of the Blackest Night storyline.

I think they should use Hal in Justice League 1 and 2, then in the Green Lantern movie, Sinestro can be the villain, with hints that Hal has succumbed to Parallax at the end.

But they really should be using Hal, John, Kyle, and Guy in the solo movie. There's a way to make that work without overcrowding the movie. GL should be an ensemble film

Hal Jordan is my favorite Green Lantern so I hope they use him.

I can't link because for some reason this site blocks CBM, but here's an interesting quote from Marc Guggenheim about the rumors of him introducing John Stewart in Arrow.

We’re not being coy and saying John Diggle is someone else, i.e. John Stewart. DC has other plans for that character.

Wonder what they could be...

It's still so strange how with separate universes, they're still not allowed to use certain characters, even though they're allowed to use Flash, Suicide Squad, Waller, etc.

I think they had the benefit of the grandfather clause. They were already such a prominent part of Arrow that they couldn't suddenly say "You're not allowed to use them anymore".

Flash I have no idea on.

Time for a bunch of Elba, Oyelowo, Ejiofor fancasts.

I didn't get a chance to vote.
Why is the poll closed:huh:

Both in someway shape or form.

I think Pine would be a solid choice as Hal Jordan...especially if Cooper or Gyllenhaal can't be had as Hal/GL.

Pine as Hal Jordan with someone like Terry Crews as John Stewart....would work because their would be some humorous banter/comedic elements attached without a doubt.

Why not both?

Veteran Hal Jordan trains rookie John Stewart while they hunt down Sinestro. Problem solved.

Having both Hal Jordan and John Stewart is the way to go.

Hal could be busy with the Justice League, which means John can take his place on Green Lantern missions.

Yeah, it's been discussed on other threads. It is just a rumor so far, no different than the Chris Pine for Hal Jordan rumors or the Michelle Rodriguez as Jessica Cruz stuff.

So, Common's been added to the Suicide Squad cast. Could he possibly be getting his dream role at last?

Cool for the guy, if he does end up playing John Stewart. Poor ole Tyrese tho. :o I can't say I have ever seen him act in anything though.

That being said, I wish we could Idris Elba for JS, but I guess he's probably locked with Marvel for a bit.

Im sure ive read that John Stewart GL will be in the new DC movies I reckon Gaius Charles from Greys Anatomy is a good shout, here's a very rough Photoshop i did:

Any picks for Kyle Rayner? He is probably my favorite Green Lantern.

The smartest route for WB/DC to go is to use both. Introduce Hal Jordan first, and bring on John Stewart and Kyle Rayner at some point. Everyone wins.

I hope the Chris Pine rumor is true, though I highly doubt it based on the casting choices so far. Common is a horrific actor so I hope he's only playing a character that dies in Suicide Squad. There are tons of better actors they could get to play John Stewart. Don't really see a reason for John Stewart to be in Suicide Squad anyway.

A pretty simple way to please everyone is to have all the Green Lanterns show up at some point, particularly in the 2020 movie.

Co-signed--Kyle is the man, but these aren't bright days for he or Guy, since neither will be heading their own series for awhile.

As for actors, how about Shiloh Fernandez?

The signs seem to point to Black Manta.

I think Gardner generally has a higher profile in other media. He was the main Lantern on Batman:BatB and he was a recurring character on the Green Lantern animated show. He was also featured in that DTV LEGO Justice League animated movie that came out earlier this year. But yeah, not counting some video game appearances, Kyle seems to be completely ignored by DC in other media, which sucks. He is a very underrated character. DC seems to put Jordan and Stewart above the rest all the time and I'm not sure I'm fine with that.

in order of importance in the comics, it goes

Hal
Kyle
Then I'd say Guy because he was a huge part of the Justice League in the late 80s early 90s
John

but in terms of exposure to the general audience it's probably

Hal (he led his own movie and tv series, he's made so many animated appearances and he's been the main GL since his creation)
John
Guy
Kyle

I would love Hal but due to the... what I can only describe as atrocious Ryan Reyolds movie it is to soon to just make another Hal movie, so I'm going with Kyle Rayner because I can't think of anyone to play John and I in my opinion I wouldn't be majorly into a Guy Gardner movie as I find the character annoying.

I didn't think the Green Lantern movie was that bad. It felt like it should have came out around the late 90's/early 00's though. If that makes any sense. We're getting amazing CBM's in this modern age, and standards have been set, but I do feel like if this came out around the first X-Men/Spider-Man, it would have been perceived a little bit better.

Seeing as the next GL film isn't set to come out until 2020. That'll be about 9 years since the first one... That's probably enough time to get over the bomb of the original GL.

That said, I could definitely see them using John in Justice League. I still remember when the GL trailer was released, half the comments were "I thought Green Lantern was black!" The Justice League cartoon had a bigger impact than some people may think.

I'd love to see them all in a GL movie though. It'd be great.

Don't you think if they were all in the movie it would feel over packed and like the film didn't quite know who it's main character is.
