Does he actually confirm Namor? He is asked if he has the wings and he just says no. Why does that mean Namor is in the movie in some form?

why would he say no for the wings instead of "he's not in the movie"

Did what with Ant-Man? Now there is speculation the powered Ant-Man won't even be in it.

that ant man wasnt going to be in the film....well to be honest the way Marvel is doing these films anybody who has ever showed up in an Avengers comic might be in this movie

i am surpried we still havent heard more about invaders/howling commandos what ever is the name they are going with.

Maybe they should call them The Howling Invaders

Surfer

What nation would Namor represent? Country from his father's side?

Anyone think that they are putting Namor in Captain America just to beat Fox to the punch (they are rebooting FF) and have Namor in the Marvelverse and not in a one-off franchise?

If this is the case... they'll introduce him in WWII but never really do anything with him... they'll show a news clip of him or have him introduced to Cap or something... THEN MAYBE have him throw the Cap into the ocean at the end of the movie to melt him out.

He's going to be a cameo IMO

And what an awesome cameo it will be.

Just take a step back and think about it for a minute - Namor. Up there on the big screen.

No. Marvel has the cinematic rights to put the character in a movie. Fox does not.

if you go back and look back at the Shield Screens from IM2 there is a point of interest in the Atlantic Ocean where Marvel Atlantis is located at(Wakanda was also a point of interest)

Oh there was a teaser of Namor in IM2 for sure but it was just a 'blink and you'll miss it' shot of text on a screen; it wasnt so much something to get a person salivating as it was just a little nod whereas Cap will actually have an actor in the guise of Namor up there on screen.

I presume they go with the Spock look for the ears? Johnson's said no wings on the ankles but is it a possiblity to think that they'd do the unthinkable and omit the pointy ears out too?

Come to think of it, here we are talking about a Namor cameo and I dont think we've even talked about who'd actually be playing such an important Marvel character.

JRM could work.

My own personal choice would be Jeffrey Donovan:-

Arnold Vosloo is my choice for Namor

after watching the whole series of The Tudors im gonna go with Johnathan Rhys Meyers for Namor. he has the look and he can definately pull off the whole regal a. hole attitude. but other than Namor id like to see Union Jack(of course) and The Destroyer. itd be nice to have someone a bit more prone to violence on the team. lol

Hmmm, as long as that Bullseye is opposite a Michael C Hall Daredevil, I could dig that also.

No. Marvel has the cinematic rights to put the character in a movie. Fox does not.

Does Marvel have the rights to him? He is a very key character in the mythos of the Fantastic Four too. Not sure if Universal still has the rights to Sub Mariner... but if they didn't, wouldn't it be wise of Fox to use him in their reboot to secure his rights? Maybe this is why we are seeing Marvel use him in Captain America first.

Maybe Marvel will introduce Namor in one of those mini movies they plan to do before the feature films. That way you can get introduced to the character and not have to really dwell on him during the movie.

I think it's been established that Fox own the rights to the Silver Age version of the character only, meaning that the Golden Age version [who is not that dissimiliar] can be used by Marvel if they so wish.
