news flash! whatever you enjoy IS "the best".

You don't say "I enjoy Pepsi the most but Coke is the best." :o

thats not nesecarily true. for example x2 quality wise is a better movie. but someones opinion mite say that altho they accept that x2 was better quality wise they enjoy x3 more for different reasons.

for example critically the two towers was the best of that trilogy but the majority enjoy return of the king more even tho some accpet that quality wise two towers may be better.

and none of wat i said above represents my opinion lol cuz i thot x2 was alot better then x3

1.) X2
2.) X1

X3 doesn't deserve to be on the list.

wow, i can't believe how many comic reading fans prefer the last film to the original, wow...

As if the first movie was really faithful to the comics...

Didn't know that in the comics Wolverine tried to be like Scott, Storm was a simple *****, Xavier a ****head, that Cyclops had no participation in the Phoenix saga and that the Phoenix was just a Zombie.

I didn't know Wolverine had no history with Sabretooth, Iceman was a teenage boy while Scott and Jean were adults, Storm was one of the original X-Men, and Mystique was scaly.

It wasn't the Phoenix saga. It had elements of it, but it wasn't an adaptation of it.

X-men 3 is the best. Singer just stuck the X-men in black leather because the Matrix was popular at the time.

He ruined the look and tone. So, don't talk to me about looks. These movies should've looked better and been more epic. Ratner got it right it felt like the X-men, it felt like the comic.

The whole thing is great. Ratner needs to do #4 and make it look more like the book now, he tried to have it look like stupid singer but you could see his love for these characters come out.

And Cyclops will be back. X-3 is the best there is!

You're right we should start making the yellow and blue spandex immediately! Mystique will have her white dress and toad will be dressed like a court's jester! I didn't see it before but its a masterpiece in the making! Just like the last Capt America film!

First off, no film for X-Men was going to be note for note, panel for panel exactly like the comics so that needs to get out of this argument.

Film and books are different medium. Adaptation of beloved books or comics are extremely difficult, especially if there are numerous characters, stories, and themes throughout.

X-Men and X2 got it right because first and foremost, they're good to great films. They're well made. Second, they were faithful to the ESSENCE of what the X-Men stories are about and that's the most important thing about adaptations.

The Last Stand was not. It could've been with the ideas and story used but the execution is way off and it doesn't build off the emotion of the previous films and that's the biggest problem.

Characters might have been slightly altered, but at least they stayed in character and were faithfull to the essence of the comic.

In X3 it's basically, "ok you have these set of powers, but no relation to the character at all".

with it's faults, it has the best character build up cumatively than any other one even though it had the whole universe to introduce.

at the heart of it, whatever was changed, it felt like an x-man film more than 3.

After viewing X3 yesterday I'd rate them as the following.

X2

X1

X3

I don't think it had the best character build up. I think that honor goes to X2.

Storm was a wimp, Cyclops was a lot more pompous than he should've been, and Sabretooth was just horrifying.

but they weren't the focus of the film, the focal points, were xavier, wolverine, rogue and magneto.

you can't fault their build up.

cyclops and jean had a lil more than the rest but it was expected with the route they went down. For the story that needed to be told, all the exta characters weren't necessary but you didn't feel they were just rammed in there to be abused, each of the smaller main cast got reasonable time and battles.

with a roster in x2 i felt more time was allowed for growth but i felt it didn't then even it out between the characters left in the dark for the first film, i think the differential between exposure really became apparent by the end of the second film and that it had become a wolverine/magneto fest.

i did feel like jason, lady deathstrike, colossus, cyclops (in fact there was no growth for xavier, he was rather a pawn), very small jean pheonix build up, storm again all had relatively weaker builds since the concentration on wolverine had become so intense.

that's my view, i mean i watched it last night and nearly half of the film is based on alkali lake, way more than a good third and i don't even knowwhy it takes so long to move along, time i felt may have been better put to evolving characters rather than dealing with story.

but again that's just me.

I just watched X1 again last night for the first time in years. There are a couple of shoddy special effects shots, the action isn't epic, and a few bad lines stand out, but I just think Singer got almost everything right in that one.

I'm really surprised to see that X3 is beating out X1 on that poll. Really surprised. X1's story just trumps any of the others. It has the best overall dialogue, the fantastic love triangle and interplay between Scott and Logan, and Magneto just plain kicks ass. Not to mention there are just some really awesome little things scattered throughout, including some unique camera angles. The sound design is fantastic, and Kamen's score is the best of the bunch.

But that's just my opinion. One of many. :)

I'm stupified here. I cannot comprehend in any way how the 3rd is even close to being superior over it's predecessors. Seriously stupified. :(

I had to vote X3 because we finally got a comic book movie, i like all the X-men movies because they are on film, but i think brian singer, who set the tone for these movies ruined them in the same breathe. X3 was a better comic book movie than either of the first. cyclops shouldnt have died, i hate the character. he is a uptight prick my opinion sorry. but he was filming superman and x-men at the same time of course he got wrote out and wolverine was given his lime light. james should have turned down singer knowing his movie was coming. read in wizard where they interviewed hugh and he said the brain s didnt want them reading the comics, was afrraid they would actually know the characters so X3 by a mile

Overall best movie, considering action and story:

1) X3
2) X1 (almost a tie with X3)
3) X2

Join the club. People won't be saying that after the newness wears off, I think. I made the mistake of seeing it a second time, cause I'd heard people enjoyed it better on second viewing. It was even worse than the first time.

I couldn't disagree more.
