My ranking would be:
1.X3 Thank god, Kitty finally gets to do something more than just run through walls but is actually a very interesting character.
Bobby Drake literally goes from hiding behind a kitchen countertop in X2 and actually becomes Iceman and a vital force on the team in X3.
I absolutely loved the Beast, "Oh my stars and garters" brought a huge grin to my face.
Storm actually gets to become the warrior storm goddess in this one as well as the giving mother by the end of the film.

Yet another example of X3 being glorified cause of action scenes... isnt anyone seeing how dumb that is. I mean come on REDLION... why dont yo ucome over to my house and we can watch punisher, then ff, then elektra. That way you can just be happy about the action scenes. Kitty was horrible and PINK OUTFIT???????? Kitty paige in the comics was cool... and there was NOTHING to warrant BOBBYS transition. NOTHING. Singer would have put one hell of an emotional scene in the movie to show BOBBY forced to fight. In this movie we just have to come to that conclusion ourselves!

2.X2 Nightcrawler's intro has to be the coolest I've seen in any comic book film.

but then there is Magneto in prison... and my heart stopped on the weapon x flash backs... the death strike fight, the wolverine shot in the head scene... the fact that stryker was using his own son, marsdnes crying scene.... hmmmmmmmmmmm.... soooo many cool things

3.X1 The one that started it all. Magneto as a kid in the prison camp is one of the most powerful scenes in a film and it still affects me.
Right on about mags. But they nailed WOLVERINE on the first try with the claws. SAbertooth both looked dumb and was goone to fast. Toad about the same. But there was many things about the story that allowed a brillant build up. for the second movie... but i also remember how little of a budget they had for this movie and how much singer fought fox for some ideas he wanted.

Yeah so... whats your point? X3 still has more action in it then the other two combined. He was only talkin about X1 and X2. OK I'll restate my comment ...None of the three are critically acclaimed and X3 still has more action then the other two combined.
I'd say an 87% Rating for X2 and an 80% for X1 sure make them seem much more acclaimed by the critics than X3's paltry 55%. But you're right. There was more action and it made a lot of money. Armageddon made a lot of money too. Doesn't necessarily make it a good movie.

I enjoyed all 3 for diffrent reason but if i had to pick just one to take with me to be watched over and over it would be X3.It has a lot more going on to keep me into the whole movie and not too many soapbox moments. Now if were talking best trilogy it would come in 3rd over all behind BLADE AND THE MATRIX TRILOGY.

I would like to change my vote...Xmen 1 was the best movie

None were that good. I'm very disappointed because I love Xmen. We had great comics and still do, great cartoon series, and great characters but these movies just were not good. There were only moments and parts that characters and the movie was good.

So much more negative than positive in many aspects. It just all seemed like they didn't care much about the comics/the real script.

x3 by far... it just pisses me off that how much better this movie could've been. not becasue of ratner, because of singer. if x3 didn't have to follow certain things about x1 and x2 (the crap casting of nearly every character, for example) it would've been so much better.

yes mr. credible.. you should tell us how you would have pulled a crazy ass comic book movie like XMEN out of your ass and made it viewable and likable by the masses! Have them turn out in record numbers... have strangers talking about it, just over all have it be an amazing piece of work... for the budget and the limit you have in hollywood with a story that can get as silly as Xmen has been in the past.

go ahead man... i want to hear it. Cause i can tell you what i would do to fix X3, and it is things that i have said from before i saw the movie... so, tell me how you would have FIXED THE BOTCH UP JOB singer supposedly did... cause i am tired of trying to back up my opinion on here with facts or correction just to have some X3 ACTION FAN come on here and try to shoot Singers work down with out any backing or correction, and most likely not taking the time to read any reply with more then 30 words in it, so you dont even hear the intelligent arguements.

How about you NOT jump down somebody's throat when they don't agree with you. You hate the movie, fine. Others, including myself, liked it.

And newsflash! Not everyone here has to LIKE what Singer did! I like what Singer did for the franchise, but not everyone has to feel the same way...

X2 10/10
X-men 9/10
X-men: TLS 7.5/10

In numberswise it's the most accurate expression for me too.

X2 was the best by far. Part three was like part one, too many characters. But if I had had some say so I would have kept the Weapon X story for part three anyways...part two would have been about Apacolypse. And in hindsite, part three's Leech story would have made for a more interesting opening story.

It would have been best for the series for them to stretch out the Wolverine Weapon X/ past storyline through all three movies (then when Prof X dies in part 3 it would mean more to Logan).

Still McKellen kicked ass, I demand they skip out on spin offs and have him for one more sequel, redeeming himself, helping the Xmen fight a greater evil.

X-Men United all over again? :p

I suppose it could work. But I'm really okay with just having 3 movies.

If a 4th one is made, it needs to be done very carefully... because everything has pretty much been wrapped up and concluded with X-Men: The Last Stand, and I don't want another sequel to turn into a retcon fest where they just say "Oh, Cyclops never died! Rogue was never cured! Magneto was never cured! Jean rises again!" and it pretty much just undoes everything that happened in X-Men: The Last Stand and goes overboard with the resurrections and stuff.

Rogue should stay cured. Jean should stay dead.

I could see Cyclops having survived the encounter with Jean. But I think it was pretty convincing the way he died.

However it happened, Magneto obviously wasn't cured. I could see him coming back.

I think the way that a possible X-Men 4 could work, is pretty much make it a direct continuation / expansion upon the battle at Alcatraz. After witnessing what Magneto was capable of with the Golden Gate Bridge and his assault on Alcatraz, Trask now spearheads Project Wideawake, the Sentinel program, to try to prevent any such occurances from happening again (now that Worthington Labs has lost Leech, and can no longer create the cure).

There could be some kind of subplot with Xavier on Muir Island, but I dunno how exactly that would play out. It would be very, VERY, awkward seeing Xavier walking, with a big old beard, instead of the bald guy in the suit, rolling around in the wheelchair. And it wouldn't make any sense to put him back into the wheelchair, since he does have a new body.

This is why I'm very weary of an X-Men 4, because there's too much stuff that could go wrong. They'd be skating on very thin ice, and there would be little room for error. I acknowledge that with the ending of X-Men: The Last Stand, it could possibly work. But I think that a 4th movie would just be a ticking time bomb waiting to blow up in the face of every X-Men fan everywhere.

If it could be done right, and add to the world and story we have (and not just end up as some stand alone story, isolated from the trilogy), and not get stupid with a bunch of resurrections and "they weren't really cured!" angles, I'd love to see it. I'd definatley love to see it over Wolverine and Magneto, as I'm not a supporter of movie spinoffs.

But I'm just really worried with how it will play out, with Cyclops dead, Rogue cured, Beast off in the U.N., Xavier in another body on Muir Island, and Jean dead... too many character arcs have been concluded to really justify a 4th movie, in my opinion. And I don't want to see a 4th movie that just moves on without those characters, just to introduce new characters. It won't feel like part of the same franchise. Just because a comic book can get away with certain things doesn't mean a movie can.

I voted for X2, though it was hard to choose between that one and X1. The Last Stand, though I enjoyed it, just has too many missed opportunities for me. It's kinda like the Return of the Jedi of the X Men trilogy.

They all had their strong points: X1 had the best characterization, X2 the best story, and X3 the best action.

1. X-3
2. X-1
3. X-2
I would say I like X-3 and X-1 the same, but X-3 a fractionally bit more. I didn't enjoy X-2 much at all and to be honest, I actually found it a bit of a bore.

The first movie is the best.

Specifically the first twenty minutes, up until the point Logan's truck explodes. Those scenes of Rogue and Logan have a depth and realism found no where else in the series. It's like you're watching real people. By the time you get to X3, as much fun as it is, it's pure action movie, completely what Bryan Singer DIDN'T want to do.

Empire is doing a poll similar to this one which has more votes. It is asking which is your favorite X-movie. Here are the results so far:

X-Men 2: 64%
X-Men: The Last Stand: 24%
X-Men: 12%

There have been 3773 votes received as I'm writing this.

Here is the link. You can see the poll in the upper left corner of the page:
