Great way to describe X-Men 3.blind_fury said:Nothing Earth shattering.

Wesyeed said:I saw the clips and read from spoilers that all the corn in the clips wasn't just caused by bad editing down for tv so I'm making my judgement on that plus what I know about cyclops being quickly discarded, wolverine taking his place and even acting like him, the trailer being better than the movie, colossus being a slingshot and nothing more, a rushed story that allows no time for anything to sink in. Oh and my sister saw it and she came home and told me exactly this "it wasn't that great." by her tone of voice, I knew she wished she saw some other movie instead. she qualifies as: 'general audience' by the way and is a genius. So yeah, I'll keep my money away from fox, thanks.

The reason X2 is hailed is because more than anything, it's not merely a great superhero film. It's a great film, period. And that's the difference.
This genre can go beyond than just settling to be a good superhero film. Every film should strive to be a great film and X2 is that.
It's the same with Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, and Hulk. More than anything, they're great films.
The Last Stand had the potential to be the greatest of this genre and another great film in it's own right.
It failed bigtime.

I know the movie is in good hands. Seriously though, what x-men 3 needed was more time and it'd have blown my sister away with excellence, I'm sure.
