I love 'em all
Great franchise with the same cast and soul!
Unlike the batman!

Yeah I liked em all too and you hafta take em as a trilogy, so maybe a good poll would be WHAT IS THE BEST TRILOGY? :D

GNR,

The reason X2 is hailed is because more than anything, it's not merely a great superhero film. It's a great film, period. And that's the difference.

This genre can go beyond than just settling to be a good superhero film. Every film should strive to be a great film and X2 is that.

It's the same with Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, and Hulk. More than anything, they're great films.

The Last Stand had the potential to be the greatest of this genre and another great film in it's own right.

It failed bigtime.

X1:Good characters, OK plot, little action
X2:Good characters, better plot but had a few holes, better action
x3:The best action by far, the plots (phoenix and cure) were solid but felt cluttered together, characterization was average

My Personal Favorite

X1: Got the idea correct that X-Men are a team, not individuals. Great character building, not much action. Magneto and the Brotherhood were a little on the weak side.

Best Movie:

X2: Brillant film, albeit to Wolverine focused. Good plot from "God Loves Man Kills". Nailed just about every character involved. Even bit parts like the President and Colossus were excellent. Specifically we got to see great character defining scenes with Storm, Nightcrawler, Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops and especially Wolverine. Had many notable action sequences and fights. Best ending in a movie ever.

Worst

X3: Atrocious. Any resemblence to the original comic or original movies faded. Characters acted with abaddon and the setting switched without transition. Killed off characters instead of using actual Drama to advance the plot. Lines were either foolish (I'm the Juggernaut b****) or not well thought out (Kitty missing the first snow in Illinois while they are further North in Upstate New York). Most characters who were not Wolverine or Storm were totally usless to the plot. X-Men is not nor will ever be a powers fest. The comic has and will always be a story about a group of mismatched mutants stuggling to be a family of friends. Stuggling to work together. Understand this and you understand why the emotion, drama and character building needs to be there. That is why X-Men is so attractive to readers because they truly and deeply feel a connection to who they are not WHAT they are. Focusing on WHAT they are is totally the wrong course of action, because as the anti-discrimination comic book tries to point out, that is not important. So to all who made this movie, go read a comic the next time.

X-Men 3, as much as I like the other two (X2 more than the first) I find them a little boring.

The three of them, in my opinion, were great... but X3 for me was the best... it has more action, it has more sentiment... and Poenix for me as the best... I felt hot twice after she appeared and cried ( but didn't felt i was crying ) after the medical lab scene...

X1 was very cool... the introductions of character was just the best ( even if you just saw Magneto and Rogue's )...

And X2, the storylie was cool and the action... but I feel a little different when I see this one ( compared to the other two... ) I can't explain it...

So, for me was X3, then X1 and last ( but not forgotten ) X2...

I'm really surprised at the number of people that feel that X3 was a better film than X1.( There are even a few saying X3 is better than X2!!!?????!!!!!)

It's called an opinion.

call me old-fashioned, but I tend to think you ought to actually see a film before passing judgement on it.

I saw the clips and read from spoilers that all the corn in the clips wasn't just caused by bad editing down for tv so I'm making my judgement on that plus what I know about cyclops being quickly discarded, wolverine taking his place and even acting like him, the trailer being better than the movie, colossus being a slingshot and nothing more, a rushed story that allows no time for anything to sink in. Oh and my sister saw it and she came home and told me exactly this "it wasn't that great." by her tone of voice, I knew she wished she saw some other movie instead. she qualifies as: 'general audience' by the way and is a genius. So yeah, I'll keep my money away from fox, thanks.

hey, I'm not forcing you to see it... i'm just saying that if you haven't done so then your opinion on whether it's a good film or not is totally worthless.

Not my sister's.

And I like my opinion. thats good enough.

:p

then maybe your sister should have voted instead of you.

by the way, the new superman film is terrible. much worse than the original four. not that I've seen it, but that's my opinion.

I vote on behalf of my sister.

And superman returns is brilliant, lightyears ahead of this mediocre movie. take that!

Because I believe in Singer.

I know the movie is in good hands. Seriously though, what x-men 3 needed was more time and it'd have blown my sister away with excellence, I'm sure.

I've seen X3 two times now, the second time wasn't as enjoyable because some *&@!face kept messing with his phone during the movie (yeah...set off one of his ringtones during the Jean/Wolverine makeout scene  ). I was tempted to whisper spoilers to him. But anyways, I enjoyed X3...it was fun, provided the action that we all were waiting to see. I certainly wanted MORE of that action (as I'm sure many of you wanted a long scene of Pryo vs. Iceman). Granted I allowed myself to view some spoilers before going in so there weren't as many surprises to me, but that's ok. I'm just glad we finally got to see Beast, Danger Room w/Sentinel, Juggy, etc.

But to put X3 up in comparision to X1 and X2 in terms of story and drama (because it can't all be action), I would have to say X1 provided a good backstory and the following X2 made it more real. X2 did a great job focusing on all the @!$* mutants get from humans and mutants having to deal with being what and who they are because at that time, there was no mention of a cure and a life otherwise. Since I believe that a comic (in both page and screen media) should have a real and logical world even in the created one, I would put X2 above X3 but like many of you said, not by too much (given the action element).

Overall, I think it is a tough task to rank three good-to-excellent films. They all have their pros and cons in everything from script to acting, direction to effects. It's all personal preference and because I like the drama side more than orgin and action, my vote for number one goes to number two. Then X3 and X1. If you like the action or origin better, that's cool.

Gotta go. Tommy Boy is on.
