  • X3

the First film has to be the Best, everything set up nicely, each character shines at least once!, No Favoritism!, Followed Closely with X2

X2 was the only one upon exiting the theater I knew I loved. X men took warming up to at first, mainly because I was a lot younger then and was basing my anticipation only on the animated series. It was different I learned to like it. Also it was sort of short and like X3 felt like half a movie.

X men: the Last Stand, who knows what the future will bring. I'm older now, more wise in both X men and movie dynamics/lore. And I think it isn't a very good movie, based on the writing mainly. Nothing was developed.

The most complete story was deffinetly X2, it had a beginning, middle and end (a long end). The Last stand barely had a beginning, somewhat of a middle and a rather anti climactic ending (for me at least). It felt like the second half of a movie. (which is bad even if it is a sequel, Matrix anyone?)

Wolverine staring at the sky all cheesy like and Magneto playing chess with himself doesn't even compare to Xavier bringing up Once and future King and Jean having the voice over with the flaming bird beneath the the surface of the water. That is my favorite moment in any comic book movie. X men's ending was even very exciting and cool.

X2 left me satisfied yet pumped for the next one, none of the others did that.

It's like comparing Empire Strikes Back and Wrath of Khan to Return of the Jedi and Search for Spock. They aren't bad followups just not anywhere near as good as the predecessor.

to be fair there was a favouritism towards wolverine but it wasn't like he completely took over the story of the film though in the first one.

Empire is doing a poll similar to this one which has more votes. It is asking which is your favorite X-movie. Here are the results so far:

X-Men 2: 64%
X-Men: The Last Stand: 24%
X-Men: 12%

There have been 3773 votes received as I'm writing this.

Here is the link. You can see the poll in the upper left corner of the page:

Thanx, I voted (x-2).
I think the fact 12% think x-1 (made in 2000 and with 1/4 the money) is still better than x-3 say a lot.

x-men 2 is the best by far. it's the best or second best comic book movie ever made next to batman begins.

then x-men 3 which could have been a lot better but it was still good considering how rushed the producers were.

x-men 1 is the least good. it's a fine movie to establish the characters but that's all. there was nothing remarkable about x-men 1 other than the fact that it was taken seriously and came out good unlike most comic book movies.

Despite its flaws, X3 is the best of the trilogy IMO. There is no scene in either X1 or X2 that has half the emotion, tension or action involved in the confrontation between Jean and Professor X at her childhood home. For me, that is the climax of the trilogy.

x-men united was easily my favorite, followed by x-men then last stand.

X-Men: The Phoenix Revenge

:p

"This is for killing me in the last movie, you dick."

1. X3
2. X1

and sucking swill at the bottom of this list the god awful X2

Mr. Dong good sir. Would you mind terribly elaborating on why you felt X2 was god awful? I am not trying to argue with you it is just a somewhat rare opinion and I would enjoy hearing your thoughts.

I got turned off by X2 when Jean died...that was in 2004.... when i first saw it. I liked the red head, but I didn't know who the woman was at the time. So I wasn't into x-men for a while until a few months ago. lol. yup.

X2 > X1 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Poo-Poo

Did I forget something? Ah yes, X3 comes in fourth.

It's funny how all these movies have flaws but they never put em all together... X1 character development was very good... X2 story was very good... X3 emotion/action very good... but they never quite put it all together... it's the imperfections however that make this trilogy the best comic book adaptation and the best trilogy of this century right behind LOTR... I'll put Spiderman ahead of Xmen once I see SM3 though...

I don´t understand why this forum is full of crybabies, if the movie is not the favorite of these crybabies, then why the haters stay here.

Sure. Many reason why I disliked the movie. I felt the story was rather weak and a ripof fof the first movie only opposite (Mags turn everyone into mutants using a big device and another mutant - Stryker *horrible character bby the way* killing all mutants using abig device and another mutant) as well as the characters were butchered progressively worse throught the first two movies. Wolverine was not done right (the mansion scene was bad, he was not fighting like Wolverine would fight as well as badly filmed *check the dive off the upper staircase taking out the two guards*) and frankly I was not really impressed with how any of the other characters were portrayed. I understand changing Deathstrikes origin (sacrifcing a characters actual origin to cut down on film time and make her actually fit into the plot) so I can swallow that. But scene slike Magneto saving the jet when he was in a totlaly different state 10 minutes before. He had the power to control and stop a Jet that was 20,000 feet in the air but he could not break out of the plastic prison? Why not reach out and pull some ore from the soil and have it crash through the walls or something. I am sorry but if this man can get across the eastern states in minutes and snag a super fast moving out of control aircraft from the slky stopping its spin and descent with such ease, then he should have easily broken free of jail. Xavier stopping time around the world? The whole Wolverine Stryker scene at the end, draping him with chains.

I am tired as hell and rambloing, probably typos galore and for that I apologize. I need to run so maybe tomorrow I can elaborate if you want. there were about 12 of us tat saw this in the theater, majority being classic X-Men readers (80's) and out of the group only two walked out of the theater having liked that film. A father son combo and neither having ever read a comic.
