Both seasons of the Flash have had very compelling mysteries that make the viewer want to see more and know what is going to happen. This is something it has succeeded in doing which Arrow hasn't had.

But which season has had the more compelling mystery? The mystery of Harrison Wells and Reverse Flash in Season 1, or the mystery of Zoom and Jay Garrick in Season 2?

The man in the iron mask has elevated the mystery factor this season; above lasts…

With zoom a full on mystery and now the man in the iron mask. This season has had more mystery. Plus add jay's death at the end of the last episode and it has me going nuts for the final reveal whenever that is!!!

I will say of all the dc tv shows right now the flash is by far the best of the group

Easily season 2. People are going nuts wondering who Zoom is, especially with the new player in the iron mask. Far more than people were last season with the Reverse Flash.

Definitely this one. Last season was THAT much of a mystery. We knew Wells was the RF early on, some fans went nuts with some weird theories, but, ultimately, they played it pretty straight. Sure, there was the Wells/Thawne twist, but nothing compared to the Zoom thing.

Let me put it this way:

Season 2 has had a better mystery in terms of its complexity and us, the viewers, wondering what the answer is. Meanwhile, Season 1's mystery had the stronger emotional connection for the viewers since it dealt with the person who killed Barry's mother.

Wells was the Reverse Flash from the beginning of the show! No mystery there lol.

Couldn't be put any better than this.

It wasn't really a mystery in season 1, for me atleast.

As to who the bad guy is? Season 2.

As to the biggest overriding mystery about the badguy? I'll go with Season 1 for the question "What does this man want?" The actual identity of the Red Lightning Murderer wasn't that shocking, though the way they played with Cavanaugh's intensity and goals was far more engaging than Zoom's identity.

Season 1 had you waiting desperately for the teaser at the end of each episode, even after they had Cavanaugh reveal who he was really playing; in fact, Season 1's mystery had a huge impact just from him saying the name "Eobard Thawne," since all of us fanboys now had to wonder "why isn't he already killing Barry?" And the reveal was that a) Thawne needed barry's speed to return to his home, and b) he had grown attached enough to this Barry to actually kind of care for him.

S1 was a better story, more heart wrenching betrayal etc.

But for a mystery, definitely this one, due mainly to the dude in the mask and Zoom being so ominous.

I don't care for Jay Garrick like I cared for Wells, but I don't think they intend me to. Overall they are both well above average in their roles as a first and second season respectively.

Season 2 definitely. Though 2A really dragged and lost focus on Zoom every now and then which made the first few episodes very tedious. Things started to pick up in 2B after Patty Spivot left and they stopped with the LOT set up. As other's have said, RF's identity was guessed very quickly. However, Zoom was a hard one to figure out (I thought he was Earth 2 Henry myself). Despite knowing Zoom's identity as Jay Garrick, we still don't know which Jay Garrick (Hunter Zolomon) he is, and why there's four of them.

The real Jay Garrick (the Flash) said Zoom was created from dark matter that dispersed from E2 star labs hours before the particle accelerator explosion. This Jay Garrick is most likely the one in the iron mask. The Jay Garrick who's been hanging out at star labs could be a clone planted by Zoom. Hunter Zolomon from Earth 1 is most likely Zoom. How he traveled to Earth 2 and played cat and mouse with the Flash for two years is a mystery. Unless the particle accelerator from Earth 1 somehow sent him to Earth 2.

It's a good mystery indeed.

Season 1 was amazing story telling. Eobard is a miles better villain than Zoom.

Pretty much how I feel too. We knew from the start that Wells was up to no good, or at least what they showed was that he obviously had more than meets the eyes going on. To us fans of the characters for a long time the second talk of the future started we all figured the name Eobard would come up. It was just a question of when and how.The way that particular arc played out was just wonderful and very engaging since Tom and Grant really delivered in their performances and some of the scenes and dialog were so very good in that facet of the show. But again, I think for myself, it was far from a real "mystery".

Now season two, I don't feel the emotional component is quite at the previous season, but in it's own way, the "Who or What Is Zoom?" thing is actually twisty, far more to me than the RF arc. The thing is, I feel that there is less dramatic tension despite it being a more mysterious mystery. :yay:

I would say season 2. I thought Harry was up to something since the second episode.

Season 2 for sure! I think the writers are doing a better job building suspense this season around

It picked up end of 2x12 and from Earth-2 on. The rest was just lagging and I was bored mostly.
