Homecoming Which Sony elements/influences should be retained for this movie

Well, they FINALLY did away with the stupid constant unmasking in TASM2. I hope that sticks. Marvel still has a habit of unmasking characters for too long. (Cap would be a prime example)

While that is a very common and long existing criticism for many superhero films, I think in Cap's case we need to be a bit more fair. Up til now they still haven't really come up with a Captain America mask that is decent enough for us to stare through out the whole film or better looking than Chris Evans' face. lol

Oddly enough, Evans' face actually matches better with the Captain America suit than the mask with the suit.

I think Cap`s unmasking is a non-issue because he has no secret identity. Spider-Man has one to protect though, and thus unmasking is a big problem.

MCU heroes (sans Daredevil, and now, Spidey) didn't have secret identities to keep. Showing their face therefore was not an issue.

Agreed. My only gripe is with things like Cap fighting Batroc, for example. Did he really need to take the mask off for that? He was maskless a good 70 % of the movie as it is. It was like "Ok,ladies don't worry. You can see Chris's face now." :oldrazz:

There are other times it happens in the MCU. Thor didn't wear his helmet beyond a token 3 minute scene. Tony has the "viewer mode" which makes it a bit easier for him not to take his mask off,but IM & IM 3 had him maskless for most of the last act too. I just think the characters should keep completely suited up in battle.

Agreed with first two but no more Webbverse Oscorp because all the villains get made there and that is boring.

Eh I liked the whole shadowy corporation is a villain type of thing. I was looking forward to seeing where the sinister 6 would go and how Doc Ock and the Vulture would end up. But the first 2 would be more important to me.

Organic web shooters. The change made made perfect sense.

I'd say you basically start fresh. There are elements which are inherent to the Spiderman myth which have been in the Sony films and will likely show up in the new films , so that's can't be avoided. That said, the goal should be to be as fresh and as new as possible, and to tell the story in the context of the MCU.

I don't want to see the Stacy Family saga done again since we've had 3 films with the Stacys, SM3, ASM, and ASM 2.

By the same token, I don't want to see the Goblin Saga yet again, at least this soon. The Osborn's and Oscorp, Yes since there are alot of connections to other characters and storylines in the MCU.

I certainly don't want another Origin story, or even flashbacks for that matter. We know how he became Spiderman.

- Organic webs
- J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson
- Norman Osborn having a very big role

Man, it upsets me how much TASM came so close to getting Norman right to just throwing his character away in the second movie.

Well, he didn`t quite die. His disembodied head was still down there at Oscorp, waiting to be awakened by The Gentleman, so he would have been brought back eventually.

Not sure how I`d feel about Norman`s head wandering around on its own though.

Oh how I wish there was a third movie :/ I was hoping it was all a hoax with Mysterio behind it.

:hehe:

There was the possibility he could've been given the spider venom and would turn into the Goblin (Ultimate based), but that would not have went over well with a vast majority of fans.

Me personally, I'd be okay with it because I doubt we would've gotten the exact design of Hulk Goblin.

Well, as I said, it was planned as a hoax. The Gentleman and Norman were behind it though, not Mysterio.

I know this one probably has the least chance ever coming back, but...I'd love to see the music from the Raimi movies to return. They gave Spidey some epic themes.

I never liked the Hulk Goblin look. As long as we stayed away from that design, I wouldn`t have minded Norman transforming into Ultimate Goblin. I always thought they would just build him a mechanized suit a la Silvermane and be done with it though.

You might get your wish. Danny Elfman is providing additional score to AoU. It could be Spider-Man.

Now this isn't exactly an element from the movies themselves, but I thinking would so cool to have another Spider-Man shoot exclusively in New York State and New York City like ASM2. That was fine thing about the movie I thought was pretty neat.

He wasn't even in the movie, that's how they managed to get him so close to being right.:hehe:

that´s cool but it´s also VERY expensive...and now as many people have said Sony is bleeding money.

something they definetly should keep is the swinging physics from TASM series and the spider-camera from Raimi´s trilogy

Oh, another thing I'd like to see again is the little spider hairs.

Yeah that's bummer. Oh well, didn't hurt the other movies not being filmed entirely in NY.

Mr Fiers could still make a comeback. I was really looking forward to seeing Micheal Massee get a bigger script too.

I might have been broad on my statement, but as a whole Oscorp had the perfect evil vibe to it. Norman was behind cover ups etc. They managed to build him up pretty well without having him in TASM, just to throw it all away in the second
