Does Captain America have an adjective to his name like Spider-Man has the Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man has the Invincible Iron Man, Hulk has the Incredible Hulk, Thor has the Mighty Thor and X-Men have the Uncanny X-Men
what does that have to do with it hh?

The first movie should be an drama/war epic 2h30m movie set during the WWII, with the war being seen through the eyes of a soon-to-be living legend.
See how the war change him from a soldier to a hero, see how the war molded his personality...
Hell, you can even make a second movie still set on WWII.
Leave the present day to the sequel or a 3rd movie.

See, this is why, no matter how good the movies are, there will never be a movie that really represents the characters involved, because there is always someone that doesn´t know the hell he is doing.

Adjective, i don´t think so, but he does have a title...

Sentinel of Liberty

Just like Batman has Dark Knight, Superman has Man of Steel or Hulk has The Green Goliath.

I would like for the whole movie to be set in the WW2 era. What would they have him do in the present time anyways take on street gangs, be on the run from the government & military who want to experiment on him when they first find him or discover him being frozen etc, I just don't see him going into active combat in Iraq.

WWII...and then a cliffhanger with a team of scientists/government people finding his frozen ass.

Would it make sense to have the first film take place during ww2 and the 2nd film take place in the present? I would like that.

I think Nick Fury oughta be introduced in a Captain America film just incase the Avengers don't thaw Cappie out but at least Fury can.

I'm with the posters who feel that the first Cap movie should be WW2 based. Similar to what has already been said, I think Cap loses his relevance somewhat if he doesn't have a WW2 origin. Same with his main nemesis, the Red Skull.

I think the first film should be set in WW2. If it has a good script, cast, and direction it should work. WW2 projects are still being made, and some are still quite popular, such as Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Period pictures also run the gamut of popularity. I don't think the timeframe should be that much of a hindrance. Particularly because its some intimately tied to the origin of the character. Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men and Superman for example can be updated much more easily than Cap.

The first pic should be WW2. The second pic, and maybe third pics, should be modern day. I would also like a small mention or cameo of Isaiah Bradley in the first Cap pic. Of course it would be controversial for many, but I thought The Truth was an excellent work and I would like to see it acknowledged, albeit in a small way, in any Cap motion picture.

For the ones that say that a comic book period movie doesn´t sell, are completly and utterly wrong.
The same is said about women as action stars, and everyone seems to forget that one of the best franchises ever, has a woman as the main character.....ALIENS!

There is a great line in the movie FIELD OF DREAMS, that i find completely true: "If you build it, he will come" (but change the "he" with "they").
Meaning, if you make a good and solid movie, the audience will go and see it.
