A Good Reporter Makes Stories Great: Rachel Brosnahan IS Lois Lane

My four favorite picks for Lois I've had for a little while.

Jessica Henwick

Daisy Edgar-Jones

Honestly, I’m good with all of the potential choices. There’s not a single actress that I wouldn’t love portraying the character.

I really like the idea of Brosnahan, but I won’t lie… I think I'm pulling for Weaving most.

I’ve been ride or die since Ready or Not.

Hope this doesn't get taken the wrong way, but she seems almost too sweet for a role like this. I think Lois needs to have a bit of an edge to her and I just do not get that vibe from Phoebe at all.
Like I said in the other thread, she (not so much as an actress, but as a Lois Lane candidate) reminds me of Bosworth.

A delicate beauty with none of the requisite fire.

Brosnahan and Weaving are definitely my top two favorites from the listed names for Lois.

Yeah, I’ve only seen Phoebe in Bridgerton but she definitely didn’t give me any of the edge or spunk that Lois needs. Not that she needed to (it was a completely different character obviously) but even so, she didn’t impress me.

Weaving is great but something about her playing Lois just feels off. I think she would be better fit for a character like Poison Ivy.

Emma Mackey definitely has the edge for Lois but… maybe too much of an edge? I really like her but in the things I’ve seen her in, she doesn’t have that bubbly quality that I also want in a Lois Lane.

Brosnahan is the whole package. She has the look, the right balance of edge and spunk, and out of all of them, I would have to say she’s the best actress. Like I said before, the only risk you run with Brosnahan is her stealing every scene she shares with Clark.

Brosnahan would be a great get. I don’t know if I quite see Weaving in the role but I do like her as an actress, so I’d be happy to see her in the film.

I don’t watch Bridgerton nor Sex Education but I do like Emma Mackey’s look…

What the **** with the ageism, Hollywood
Yeah, it’s weird that THR is harping on this supposed issue.

Gunn is going for a younger Lois and Clark? Okay. Brosnahan is sixteen years younger than Amy Adams. Mission accomplished.

Adams and Cavill were nine years apart, Kidder and Reeve had a four year age difference and Bitsie Tulloch is six years older than Tyler Hoechlin. If Corenswet is the guy, there’s only a three year age difference there.

I mean unless Gunn wants these guys straight out of college I don't quite get it either. Corenswet looks like a grown ass man, and will only look even more like one with a bunch of muscle packed on.

I like a Lois that's a little older than Clark. It's also pretty standard.

I don't see how age is an issue at all.

Case in point, Margot Kidder was four years older than Christopher Reeve, and Bitsie Tulloch is seven years older than Tyler Hoechlin. Nobody had or has a problem with them. Hell, I’m five months older than Tyler is, and I don’t have a problem with it. I totally buy their chemistry. They both can totally get it. :D

So, Rachel Brosnahan is three years older than David Corenswet, the smallest age gap so far, and now, all the sudden, it’s a potential problem?

The kinds of people reporting, or even suggesting, this kind of stuff need to jump off a f***ing cliff with that ageist bulls**t.
