THIS has me sooo excited! She was one of the standouts in House of Cards and I remember thinking "she's gonna go places". I'm over-the-moon with her as Lois, especially after hearing the chatter that her auditions were amazing! Lois's sassy and adventurous spirit has been missing from the big screen since Margot Kidder so I'm stoked to see that Rachel will be bringing it back!Power.
Called it back in January.![]()
Very nice, and I’m gonna need to see that tape.Power.
Not even remotely surprised, she is the biggest name of all of the contenders for a reason. I feel like them having Mackey test with the guys on Sunday was Gunn and co giving her a last chance to change their minds. Basically make sure they weren't missing something.Power.
August 4 2019.
I have earlier ones too, but dont want to quote all of em.
The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread
Never posted a full fancast here because I never had a fave for Supes, and without him what's the point? But now that I do...

Yes, I've grown quite attached to having a Lois that's a few years older than Clark. But if we must have one that's closer to his age, then my alternative would be: Rachel Brosnahan

Lois and Lex IMHO.
Personally, I hope that she is portrayed as being attracted to Clark first rather than Superman. That has been one of the aspects that Superman and Lois has introduced that has been a vast improvement for Lois. It makes Lois less superficial and shallow and more strong and independent if she is not reduced to being a giddy schoolgirl around Superman and yet dismissive of mild mannered Clark.Curious to see how they'll portray Lois and Clark/Superman's relationship in this film. I doubt they'll go back to the original status quo from the original films.
Same. Superman & Lois did it perfectly imo!Personally, I hope that she is portrayed as being attracted to Clark first rather than Superman. She's hot for Supes, but smitten with Clark.Same. Superman & Lois did it perfectly imo!
Supes is the jock that is saying and doing all the right things but because of his power she should be weary of him as much as she is charmed by him, where as Clark is the sweet lovable dork that she rarely sees in men and poses no threat. She's hot for Supes, but smitten with Clark.![]()
That’s the Lois & Clark way and that worked beautifully as well. My main thing is I need her to actually see Clark, and not actually fall in love with the guy who she meets every few weeks when he drops out of the sky for a couple minutes. Making her fall head-over-heels for Superman while totally ignoring Clark’s existence just makes her look dreadfully shallow. A schoolgirl crush on Supes is fine - he’s dreamy afterall, half of Metropolis should be crushing on him - but the deeper relationship she forms should be with the guy she’s spending 8hrs a day with, 5 days a week.I'd like to see Lois initially put off by Clark in the beginning but learn to admire him, and maybe even become attracted to him, as they work more and more together. She can swoon over Superman from the get go. I mean, who wouldn't??
I'm ashamed to say that I only saw a few episodes of L&C, but if that's how they portrayed their relationship, that's a great blueprint! Definitely agree that Lois shouldn't flat our ignore or neglect Clark, but I like the idea of Lois genuinely showing Clark the ropes, Clark slowly starting to pull his weight, and Lois being intrigued by his steel-like resolve. That’s the Lois & Clark way and that worked beautifully as well. I find myself struggling to watch the CW shows (I'm a snob, I know) but this dynamic is very interesting and I hope that's explored a bit in Gunn's script. But I’ll admit I REALLY loved and almost preferred S&L’s take, where she was a Superman skeptic from the get-go and gradually came to trust him, but was already falling for Clark by then - the guy who helped her work on the stories she felt mattered most while the rest of the paper (and the world) was otherwise too busy obsessing over Superman.
Yep, S&L Lois got it right. I hope that aspect is here to stay.Personally, I hope that she is portrayed as being attracted to Clark first rather than Superman.
