The Dark Knight Who are these people viciously insulting every critic that gives TDK a bad review?

If stupid people didnt breed we wouldnt have anyone to laugh at lol.

Personally, I never read reviews for movies or music. Sometimes I read reviews for books, software or other physical products, but that's it.

I don't need some critic, or anybody, to tell me what to like or what not to like, when it comes to movies or music. Period.

I'll say it again: Denby's negative review is solid. Anyone who dismisses a contradictory opinion out of hand is being knee-jerk silly. It's a big world, and there's room for different viewpoints.

I haven't read the other negatives, so I can't comment on them.

The point of criticism isn't fascism, dude. :whatever:

I know, of course. But, reading reviews (good or bad) before you watch a movie or listen to an album is bad because it can influence your enjoyment or non-enjoyment of the movie/music. It gives you unnecessary expectations and anticipations about the movie while watching it. That's how I look at it.

Okay, so you e-mail one critic to tell him you know where his kids go to school and all of a sudden you're a monster?

I should just start sending these critics really weird e-mails, just for the hell of it. I like ****ing with people.

I'm glad that these critics have the balls to go against the mainstream. However I am disappointed that they didn't use their brains when criticizing the movie. Comparing it to more fantasy oriented comic movies or even considering comics not as a medium for serious literature just doesn't quite cut it for me though.

When critics start saying that they shouldn't be too serious, I believe that these people really don't quite understand the new ever expanding outlets of telling a story that has evolved in the world today. I don't think people should be sending hate mail to them though, that just paints a bad picture of our community.

I agree to an extent. To attack a critic because they thought it was "good" but not "great" is rediculous.
But when this happens,

Where the critic is praising the "Black Dahlia" (one of the worst movies in history), and completely bashing the Dark Knight and even There Will Be Blood, the insults and attacks have some foundation. For the most part though, I agree with you.
Terrible review. But fantastic picture.

"But how great of an actor was Ledger to accept this trite material in the first place?"

Ouch.

At least as great an actor as Nicholson, by that logic.
