This thread is for us to talk about and make suggestions to portray which character of Batman's. If pick for one of the films. I was thinking who could play The Mad Hatter. I was thinking either Robin Williams or Craig Ferguson. :D I know that Robin was interested in Joker, before Heath was chosen. Since he and Chris Nolan worked together on Insomnia. Robin, he can play one great villain. But I don't like him as villains, because he's my favorite actor.

Craig Ferguson

If one of them were chosen, they would have to have different looks for the costume of The Mad Hatter. But those are my top two for the character. Please, if you have any for this character or others, please do show and tell us why. :D

Enjoy

Cheers,

Not sure. It's one of the 8... 9...? ... 8 wonders of the world.

Call me crazy, but I think Martin Short would be an excellent Mad Hatter. He may be a comedian, but I'm sure he can pull off a serious character than some give him credit for. Not to mention he smile look very much like how Mad Hatter look in the BTAS. Just look below for comparsion. It may not be 100%, but it close.

That Martin on the right for some not sure who he is. :p

Short's already played the Mad Hatter in an Alice in Wonderland movie.

My suggestion is Andy Serkis.

The great & legendary actress Piper Laurie for Dr. Leslie Thompkins

You're point being....

Just look at that mug, Hatter is Martin Short all the way, just like Devito is Penguin. If Devito wasn't done Burton style and he was in the movie as more of a human being, he'd be dead on.

(Do like Giamatti for Hatter too, not bad. He's also my favorite choice for Ventriloquist.)

Lindsay Duncan could portray a good Thompkins....

Yeah why does everybody seem to have a hard on for Martin Short for MadHatter? I hear it over and over again. Is it because he's already played the Mad Hatter? Or is it that people don't have a mind of their own and just suggest actors that other people suggest? He's MARTIN SHORT for gods sake!!! It's not like he's an amazing actor?

So? He can play a different Mad Hatter this time if he was to be in any Batman film. Beside, he was my choice even before he did the Alice in Wonderland tv movie. Heck, I seen some fans has him in mind on the Wizard magazine fan poll on which Batman villian should be in the 5th film (it was around early 1997 before Batman & Robin was in theater) with which actor to play the part.

Thought I like your idea on Andy Serkis. He can do it all. :woot:

Fans wanted Crispin Glover & Paul Bettany as the Joker. Fans wanted Liev Shrieber as Two-face & and Angelina Jolie for Catwoman. Fans want Megan fox for Catwoman and Martin Short for Mad Hatter. Fans are idiots.

Chevy Chase god damn it
I don't care what role

Catwoman: Charlize Theron
Penguin: Ian McShane
Harley Quinn: Christina Ricci
Poison Ivy: Tricia Helfer
Black Mask: Powers Boothe

The Riddler: Jamie Bamber (maybe)

Change that to Bob Hoskins, you're set, perfect cast.

Repeating what I said over two years ago, I want to see the Ventriloquist and Scarface as one of many people to fill in the vaccuum that Falcone was sure to have left. They would fit well into the "altered perception of the world" category, like Scarecrow, without seeming like retreads.

Portrayed as a very dark Calvin and Hobbes-like trick, where everyone else sees The Ventriloquist holding a puppet, he sees a living, breathing entity parading around him and talking. He wouldn't realize that he was the one actually doing the voice, and the crime. It would make for a great cinematic end for the character to have Scarface be destroyed, leaving him alone for the first time. It could actually make you feel bad for the Ventriloquist at the same time you felt justice was served with the destruction of Scarface.

But, he's certainly not a "Big Bad". Goyer and Nolan have pulled off multiple villains with flying colors, and I hope we'll keep getting two or three (or more) per film, as long as they can match the energy and effort from Batman Begins.

As for who I'd want to play them, it hasn't changed. Rick Moranis is Wesker, and Kevin Pollack is Scarface. It's stupid for me to say that I wouldn't be happy with anyone else, because I very well might, but if I had to cast them right now, I would.

I think I have become some sort of perfectionist. I don't have many why not's
