With all the talk about Old Man Logan, in spite of the seeming rough fit of the casting choices so far, I thought I'd bring up something completely different. I really like the opening issues of the second volume of Wolverine's solo run (the story that starts off taking place in Madripoor). I think it would lead to a very interesting dynamic.

I guess my question is, if Fox wanted to make a story taking place in Madripoor, do you think they could or do you think Marvel owns those rights?

According to the Marvel Wikia its first appearance was in New Mutants. So Fox, I guess? Don't quote me on that though.

I have no knowledge of Madripoor and I only saw that mysterious location in X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse.

I won't. Well, I suppose I'm literally quoting you right now, but I promise that's just to be clear who I'm responding to ;)

The simple fact is, it's almost never clear because the rule isn't "where did they appear first." It seems to be closer to who are they more associated with, but even that's not always true (Kang is the biggest example). For example, Mystique first appeared in Ms. Marvel, but I suspect Marvel/Disney don't have the rights to her.

Madripoor is basically Marvel's seedy East Asian island (loosely based on Singapore). I knew there was some recent story involving the island as part of Hickman's Avengers and Maria Hill was assigned to SHIELD's branch there before she took over for Nick Fury, so I figured it was just a widespread catch-all place for Marvel stories. That being said, looking into it, I'm going to guess Fox as well - not only did it start in New Mutants (in a story involving the Shadow King, no less), but at least the first eight issues of Wolverine Vol. 2 take place there.

So, if we solved that issue, would people be interested in seeing Wolverine go there?

I'd love to see Old Man Logan, but aren't almost all of the characters owned by Marvel?

I'd like to see Liev Schreiber back as Sabretooth in this one, too. I hope Mangold learned from The Wolverine and doesn't let the final act be a let down.

All that I know is that I'd like to see some place in Malaysia substitute.

It won't happen, but I always wanted one of Wolverine's solo adventures to be in the Madripoor setting, with the general characters from those stories:

Charlie Corrigan- charter plane pilot, occasional smuggler
Tyger Tiger- Jessan Hoan, (relatively) benevolent crime boss
Chief Tan- chief of police, non-corrupt
O'Donnell- owner of the Bar with No Name..

You can add Nguyen Ngnoc Coy to that list as rival crime boss.
