Who else thinks??????

I think Kurse died in the last Thor series. But yeah, he was powerful. Kind of like Thor's own Doomsday.

I hope Thor comes back at either his classic power level or the "Ragnarok" power level. No in-between like Jurgens' King Thor. Either go all-out, keep him off the Avengers, and create challenges that actually live up to his power level in his own title, or bring him back at his classic level and go back to business as usual.

How about Classic power level but with Rune Magic and that badass revamped Simonson armor.

Rune magic's cool, but it puts him on a level completely above The Avengers. More like the type of guy who'd be on a team with Dr. Strange and Silver Surfer fighting the likes of Galactus and Thanos.

......you know, that's actually make a pretty kickass book. The New Defenders, with Thor as a member.

Thor was already on the level of the Silver Surfer, at least, long before he got the rune magic.

He'd fit in quite well as a Defender, though. He's kind of like a combination of most of the other Defenders--magic like Strange, energy manipulator like the Surfer, almost as strong as the Hulk.

So long as he's not resurrected as Photon, I agree.

Actually, I think a general cosmics book would rule. Genis-Vell, Phyla Vell, Moondragon, Drax, Quasar, Nova, Thor, the Surfer, Firelord, Terrax, and all the other badass cosmic characters, all doing... something... in space.

F**k Photon. When I say Genis Vel, I mean Captain freakin Marvel.

Well, I always thought the Surfer had alot more subtle energy manipulation abilities. Like, his ability to later matter is something Thor can't do. Or, at least couldn't before his Odinforce and Rune Magic days.

Hells yeah. But, don't forget Dr. Strange. People doing... something... in space is just not the same without Dr. Strange.

He could in the Silver Age. Mjolnir used to be able to do pretty much whatever Thor wanted it to.

Really? Damn. Seems a bit much, actually. But whatever.

I'm thinking, Strange, Hulk, Namor, Silver Surfer, Thor, Captain Marvel, and Thanos. But the book would only work as a mini. This type of power could only come together for some really multiverse shattering s**t.

He negated juggernauts magical based invulnerability with mjoilnir. Absorbed and redirected energy ect.

Yeah, it did at times get to be rather pre-CoIE Superman-esque.

Yeah, Thor has often been written with his power not being quite up there as it is at other times. It's possible that Thor is choosing not to use his power to it's fullest, kinda like he'll handicap himself to take on opponents who may not have the vast powers that he has. But sometimes, the writers do miss out on 'Thor's powers.'

I thought he couldn't do that. That's why he exiled him to another dimension. Juggs later came back in X-Force # whatever.

He can do it. He just couldn't do it for more than a minute because of the stupid 60-second rule that was still in place on Mjolnir at the time. Without that weakness, Thor would probably beat the classic Juggernaut with that trick. They were about even when Jugs lost his invincibility, and Thor's a much better fighter.

But that is with many powerful superheroes, if beings such as Thor and Silver Surfer were really written to their full potential, what would stand in their way? It would be a bit like the problem that pre-crisis superman ran into. Very few obstacles and challenges.

Personally Mjonir, I'd like to see the Classic Thor done like the actual Myths, with Sif as his Wife, her son Ull, Thor and Sif's sons Modi and Magni, with Thor's daughter Thrud from an affair with the Giantess Jarnaxa, all in a series.
Thor has always been the single guy but, Marvel never approched Thor as a family guy, but in that alternate reality arch of Lord Thor, which was all wrong.
Thor as a father raising those kids with Sif would be cool, and I'm sure pretty funny at times, alot like a Tales of Asgard, but, of his own family.

Marvel rarely depicted the entire Aesir family. Maybe they wished to concentrate on Thor, but Balder was not his only brother.

Balder wasn't his brother at all in Marvel's comics, I don't think. He was just Thor's best friend.

Yeah. But Marvel's writers didn't spend lots of time on the lives of the Aesir. In Norse mythology Thor and Odin weren't the only great gods. Balder was like the 'hottie' and so forth. Now that Asgard is gone, I doubt even more that Marvel will write epic stories of the Asgardians.

Frey was the "hottie," wasn't he? And Freya was the most beautiful of the goddesses.

Frey and Freya were young dieties. Frey even wielded a mighty sword which can fight by itself. But Balder was more famous and mature, and praised as Balder the Beautiful.
