At this point we've had 3(4) composers. Danny Elfman (SM1-SM2), Christopher Young (SM3), James Horner (TASM), Hans Zimmer and the Magnificent 6 (TASM2).

Honestly I have to give it to Elfman here. While I love the mellow drama of James Horner's score that gave TASM a deeper level of realism, in my opinion it just doesn't work as well as Elfman's. His main theme captured both the sense of personal tragedy Peter Parker lives, as well as the sense of adventure we've come to see from Spider-Man.
