Who here is actually gonna see the movie?

Will you see X-Men Origins Wolverine?

  • Definitely! :yay:

  • It depends - I need to see more footage.

  • I'll wait for the DVD.

  • Absolutely not! :cmad:

I picked Definitely on the poll but minus the smiley.

I still want to see this film but I think I'm going to be buying tickets for another movie then walk into Wolverine.

And it was removed once there was more evidence that the film was going in the direction I was afraid it was taking.

It means there is no evidence of me seeing the film other than an eyewitness account (which SHH posters won't have) or my own word... because the poll obviously did not accomodate the option I was looking for.

As for the second remark... Go see the Watchmen boards... that's all that needs to be said.

Dude you're just a troll. You rated watchmen a 1 without seeing it. If I remember correctly you had said you wouldn't like it cuz Snyder "couldn't lay off the eye candy", too much action, no drama etc.

You didn't predict anything, if it's not performing well it's because the general audience didn't get their action fix, they want to watch a movie, not think about one, and are also haunted by blue penises.

why do this?

don't you want a Wolverine II: Japan movie?

or an X-Men: First Class?

Its okay to have an agenda with FOX, but why allow that agenda to compromise such great things to come?

I will watch this movie on opening weekend 4 times.

-Midnight show
-Friday night
-Saturday night
-Sunday night

all we need is to bring in $90 million on that opening weekend to begin the motions of a sequel being greenlit

Its gonna be a tense weekend for Jackman and company.

Haha, what?

I want to see it in the theatre on the big screen for the action. I picked definitely because it was the closest option to how I feel for this film. I said "minus the smiley" because that would imply that I'm super happy or excited to see the film when I've been lowering my expectations big time.

I will probably buy a ticket for another film because I don't care to give money to Fox films since they tend to butcher and half ass a lot of them.

All in all JaD, I am a bit excited for this movie but it's from Fox so I have to keep my excitement in check because I will probably be disappointed like with X-3. :woot:

Peter, I know you don't seem to have any worries with this film but a good number of people(myself included)do.

If the movie blows...what would be the point of making a sequel?

I hope to hell it's a good film and a bit of redemption since X-3 but from a lot of things we've been hearing....seems like Fox is up to some of the same **** they said/did with X-3.

My expectations for this film were quite low a couple months back once I started following this movie a bit closer. But they've gone slight up for the last few weeks and I'm getting excited for it even more now. I just hope to God that this isn't a 90 minute X-Men movie , I mean geez.

And understandable :oldrazz:

That is one of the main reasons I started lowering my expectations sometime ago.

I don't want to go into this like I did for X-3. I was pumped and excited, mainly because I hadn't been following most of the rumours or info coming out about rushed production and all that. Walked out thinking wtf, X-3 was like the Star Wars prequels and the two Matrix sequels for me. Some cool scenes/fights here and there but overall pretty friggin weak.

you know the only thing we've got to worry about is the running time.

other than that we've got a great story, Danny Huston, Reynolds confirming the cancer, and this:

All those things should be more than enough to warrant ten bucks outta you :cwink:

LOL

Yeah, Liev is definitely who I want to see the most, then Reynolds as Wade Wilson would be second.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how so many posts around here factor in the running time when talking about this movie and whether they're gonna see it. With all the history they seem to be covering 90 minutes would be a joke. I'm hoping for a miracle that the final cut is 2 hours. Is that asking for too much from Fox? :whatever:

I'm looking forward to reading some early reviews for the film. I have high hopes for it and I'm hoping it's successful, I mean there looks to be some potential for some spinoff goodness if this movie does good so we'll see. And I remember seeing X3, and enjoying myself in the theater, but in the back of my head I knew "Geez, this is such crap compared to the first 2" The best parts of X3 to me were Beast, Cyclops/Wolverine's only interaction in the film, Wolvie's fight in the forest, Jean's house, and Juggernaut was pretty fun.

I'm starting to think that Liev Schreiber is gonna steal the movie with his role as Creed. He looks great  (And I loved Reloaded and Episode III... :oldrazz:

Edit: Pete said exactly what I was thinking about Schreiber too!

Yeah. To hear a confirmed 1 1/2 hour run time would kinda be bummer, but at this point I'm too excited for the positives to let that keep me from going.

If the run time is decent, I might go to the midnight showing. If it is short, I will buy the cheapest ticket because bootlegging is bad and I never have nor ever will download a movie. If it gets awful reviews, I will either not go or buy a WB or Columbia ticket and then go see Wolverine because I love Gambit too much. If I spend 10 bucks and it is an awful film, then I will keep all of my friends and family from seeing it. Fox has to learn somehow and hopefully X3's critical and fan reviews and its huge second week drop gave them something to think about for this movie. If they didn't, then hopefully Street Fighter and Dragonball will make them have another horrible year and offset whatever this makes....if it is bad.

If it is good, then I will support it fully and see it a couple of times so that I can see Japan and Omega Red in the next one.

Definetly going on opening weekend, hopefully the Friday.

I'll go and see it opening weekend.

You know it's funny, it might just be me, but I usually watch a film before I make a judgment on it. Strange that isn't it?

All this "Well it looks crap in the trailers so the film must be crap. But I'll still go and see it anyway but I won't pay" is pretty pathetic really. If it looks THAT crap, why go and see it? Why become a thief? Thieves are scum bags.

What happened to the days where people would just go and see a film without pre conceptions? Just go and see the film for what it is. If it turns out absolute crap, then spread the word, don't go and see it again, do whatever. But at least watch the film first(legally) and make that judgment.

I want to see a Deadpool spin off and the Japan story, and I'm pretty sure A LOT of other people do, even the people who say this will be crap (without even seeing it!) must want to see more of these characters. So by basically stealing a ticket you are putting a dent in the possibility of that happening, which is ridiculously stupid.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do with their money, I would never do that, and I would never let someone tell me to do that. But coming in here and waxing lyrical, thinking your a bad mon saying you gonna sneak in, bootleg or whatever makes you look like a spoilt fan boy.

And the first rules of breaking the law? Don't tell loads of people that you are going to break the law. Well, I suppose it's pretty fashionable to be a rebel these days.

I'm watching this on opening day, 30th April. In English, too. Nothing I've seen or read says it's not worth it.

And it was removed once there was more evidence that the film was going in the direction I was afraid it was taking.

It was there until we all kept reminding you of the irony. :cwink:

Watchmen? The other movie you didn't see, yet rated? :whatever:

Dude you're just a troll. You rated watchmen a 1 without seeing it. If I remember correctly you had said you wouldn't like it cuz Snyder "couldn't lay off the eye candy", too much action, no drama etc.

Which was validated by other people who saw the picture. And about the poll voting... go check the Dragonball polls and then tell me I am the only person that doesn't take the poll rating seriously... about 40 1/10's.... and I'm sure all those votes came from people that have seen that film, which isn't even out yet in the U.S if I am not mistaken.

You didn't predict anything, if it's not performing well it's because the general audience didn't get their action fix, they want to watch a movie, not think about one, and are also haunted by blue penises.

And that's your opinion.

Tonie, why vote for a film you haven't seen? Why? Seriously, what do you achieve by doing that? Apart from a bit of notoriety or whatever. If that is the reason you did it, then it is pretty pathetic man.

It didn't seem like a big deal to me... and I apologized for it. But people are going to keep bringing it up because its their number one argument to write me off as a troll. But to each his own.

You ain't gotta apologize to me man, I really ain't that bothered.

But by doing that you have made yourself a target, you can't really complain about that can you?

I mean, what happened to the old days when people would go to see a film and judge it after seeing it?

With all these trailers and interviews these days people are getting spoilt. They are judging films before even seeing the finished article.

Sure trailers and all that give us a idea about what is in store, but that's just it, IDEAS, little glimpses. You can then say "Wow that looks great!" or "Meh, doesn't look all that." But you can never really know for sure until you actually see the whole thing.

But by doing that you have made yourself a target, you can't really complain about that can you?

Well that isn't my intention believe me. I just happen to be the most vocal person about it (or one of the most). People are planning to do the same thing as I am... see the movie but not pay for it directly. But I am prepared to take on most of the flack because I happen to be extremely vocal about it. As far as the voting, it was a bad taste in humor. But it also goes the other way. As many 1/10's out there, there are probably mindless supporters that vote 10/10 before seeing a film, but no one complains about that because it doesn't offend or bother anyone. I could care less if people vote 10/10 without seeing a film before hand. But since when did the polls become the end all be all in fanboy perception of a film... that's my point.

What if you don't like it? That's a possibility even for a optimist like yourself.

I might myself try the sneak in strategy. It's just not that easy in Finland. The ushers have these "laser guns" with them so that they can check the barcode in the ticket. Plus, numbered seats. But yeah, I don't think I'm gonna see all that trouble just to get myself raged. Cam will fit me nicely.
