Who here is actually gonna see the movie?

Will you see X-Men Origins Wolverine?

  • Definitely! :yay:

  • It depends - I need to see more footage.

  • I'll wait for the DVD.

  • Absolutely not! :cmad:

Yeah, sure, I like rape.

What if you don't like it? That's a possibility even for a optimist like yourself.

I might myself try the sneak in strategy. It's just not that easy in Finland. The ushers have these "laser guns" with them so that they can check the barcode in the ticket. Plus, numbered seats. But yeah, I don't think I'm gonna see all that trouble just to get myself raged. Cam will fit me nicely.

Well watching one of those cams is gonna be less enjoyable than watching the proper version is it not? That's what I thought the whole point of watching these movies is, to be entertained, to enjoy them. Watching a shoddy cam recording isn't gonna allow you to fairly judge the film is it? Well I know I couldn't fairly judge a films quality after watching a cam.

DVDScreeners though? :hehe:

Depends. Usually they're ******. But I've seen couple of pretty good ones. One for Grindhouse was really good. (Yeah, I did download cam-version of Grindhouse. At the time it opened in US, April, it was coming to Finland in September-October. I said **** that, I'll see it now. I'm glad I did, because it was one the best movie experiences I've had. Also, because we didn't get the trailers. Then I went to see the films separately in theaters later that year, and bought the DVD's. So, they did get my money. Twice. So don't whine.)

I don't think Wolverine will get a DVDScreener leak. Those are pretty rare for big summer blockbusters. If they leak, it'll be months after the opening day.

I voted: Absolutely not.

Main reason: Wolverine as the star again
then: no X-men 4, and finally, Gambit without black/red eyes (more Scott, Emma and Storm appearing in Logan past).

I'm looking forward to reading some early reviews for the film. I have high hopes for it and I'm hoping it's successful, I mean there looks to be some potential for some spinoff goodness if this movie does good so we'll see. And I remember seeing X3, and enjoying myself in the theater, but in the back of my head I knew "Geez, this is such crap compared to the first 2" The best parts of X3 to me were Beast, Cyclops/Wolverine's only interaction in the film, Wolvie's fight in the forest, Jean's house, and Juggernaut was pretty fun.

X-3 does have it's moments but was a big step down from X-2. Funny thing, for how much I was disappointed in that film Juggernaut was one of the few things I liked...and from what I remember a lot of people didn't like him. :woot:

I'm starting to think that Liev Schreiber is gonna steal the movie with his role as Creed. He looks great  (And I loved Reloaded and Episode III... :oldrazz:

Totally agree. Liev has a big chance of stealing the movie. I didn't hate the Matrix sequels or Star War prequels...I just didn't find they had much replay value for some reason.

Edit: Pete said exactly what I was thinking about Schreiber too!

Liev definitely should be fun to watch!

I'll go and see it opening weekend.

You know it's funny, it might just be me, but I usually watch a film before I make a judgment on it. Strange that isn't it?

All this "Well it looks crap in the trailers so the film must be crap. But I'll still go and see it anyway but I won't pay" is pretty pathetic really. If it looks THAT crap, why go and see it? Why become a thief? Thieves are scum bags.

What happened to the days where people would just go and see a film without pre conceptions? Just go and see the film for what it is. If it turns out absolute crap, then spread the word, don't go and see it again, do whatever. But at least watch the film first(legally) and make that judgment.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do with their money, I would never do that, and I would never let someone tell me to do that. But coming in here and waxing lyrical, thinking your a bad mon saying you gonna sneak in, bootleg or whatever makes you look like a spoilt fan boy.

And the first rules of breaking the law? Don't tell loads of people that you are going to break the law. Well, I suppose it's pretty fashionable to be a rebel these days.

Not sure if this is towards me or Fat Tonie but I don't believe in bootlegging movies and as for sneaking in...well I will be giving the theatre money for a ticket still. It may or may not be for another film but it's not like I'm having someone open the exit doors for me to go in.

I also never said this film will in fact suck...I'm just being cautious due to Fox's track record and especially X-3.

I'll see it in theaters. Maybe even twice. But I'll send the inevitable pirated video links to everyone I know so they won't have to. :p

Wha...?

You have a problem with Wolverine being the star in a film about his origins?

So this film effects the possibility of a X-4? Hmmmm you lost me there.

Gambit does have red and black eyes, just not all the time, only when he is powering up. I think they went that route because it would be pretty obvious he is a mutant if he had the comic book eyes and it appears that he is undercover amongst many humans.

Storms cameo has been cut, and Scott has a major role in the movie, not sure about Emma.

It seems to me that your main problem with it is that it isn't comic book accurate. Well to be honest you would have to be either a madman or a complete idiot to think any comic book movie will be 100% accurate to the source material.

my problem isn't Wolverine as the star in his movie, is Wolverine being the star in 4 MOVIES!

I wanted X-men 4, so I won't see a movie only about Wolverine, or about his origin and his old friends.

Fair enough, but that is a pretty childish way at looking at things.

And as I said, who says there won't be a X-Men 4 or First Class or whatever? Well, if this film completely flops there won't be. If it is majorly successful then I'm pretty sure it won't be the end of the X-Men franchise.

And considering they've started writing Wolverine 2, it's looking less likely that we'll get a sequel to fix what Rothman and Ratner did in X3. How many X-Films does Fox have the rights to make anyway?

As many as they want I think.

They have actually started writing Wolverine 2?

Well, I was going to see it because I love how Wolverine was portrayed in the X-movies. I've never been a Wolverine fan, with that silly blue/yellow costume and that too obvious beastly behaviour. But Hugh Jackman really does something to the character. And then I found out Gambit was going to be in it. And I was like: WOOOOOOOOOTTTT!!! I'm DEFINITELY going to see it! :D

So, like, yeah, like, I'm definitely, like, going to see it, yeah... like...

Why do I have to see the Wolverine movie, if what I like are the X-men together? :whatever:

I want to see Rogue, Angel, Kitty, Storm, Beast... with Gambit and Emma.... not only Gambit and Emma in the Wolverine movie.

Thanks, but I won't pay for that. If Fox or whatever studio do X4 one day, I'll be in the theatre since day one, and probably I'll see it more than once...

but I won't see Wolverine Origins. :cwink:

No worries. I'm not saying you should see the film if you don't want to.

But I want to see a X-Men movie with all of them together too, I would prefer that over a movie about just Wolverine. But it's still part of the X-Men universe and is telling the story of a very important X-Man. And by not supporting this movie you are helping to dent the chances of future X-Men films.

Do you just hate Wolverine that much? Why?

Which was validated by other people who saw the picture. And about the poll voting... go check the Dragonball polls and then tell me I am the only person that doesn't take the poll rating seriously... about 40 1/10's.... and I'm sure all those votes came from people that have seen that film, which isn't even out yet in the U.S if I am not mistaken.

Right, it's not out in the U.S. yet. People are judging a leaked version from Japan, same as I did. You can argue the ethics of watching a download, but if you saw it you would know a theatrical viewing would not improve the low quality of that movie. If people aren't taking the polls seriously, it's the one's that voted 10.

As for Watchmen, no it's not really my opinion, I've talked to lots of people about in real life, I'm basing it on that and the people that don't like it say it's "too long" ,"too boring","too weird", "like watching a book", "why was the blue guy naked the whole movie?", "too much penis" ,"I walked out when the blue penis showed up" etc.

I'm sure everyone has some doubts about this movie, you rightfully should with it being a fox film. But your hate for his film and others seems to be unwarranted and merely spiteful. I wonder what films do you actually like?

People who don't like Watchmen for the reasons you listed really don't deserve the brain in their heads. They obviously ain't using it.

Yea it does actually seem like hate for this movie. How can you hate something you haven't seen?

but I like your comments Ace, I'm certainly not doing that at you :)

Why are people some kind of shocked that Dragonball sucked.

Did you all forget that it's freaking DRAGONBALL?!!?? Of course it sucks - IT'S DRAGONBALL!!!

We all knew 2009 was gonna be a tough year for films after the writers strike. Only one Marvel film... a Fox movie no less... Transformers, Terminator... not exactly films I am looking forward to. I don't mean to bash everything that's coming out this year, but there is nothing out there worth hyping IMO. I have dissowned the Watchmen film, and I have already dissowned this film and the Terminator film... three of the biggest movies this year. That's why I have been nothing but negative this year.

Why have you dissowned Watchmen without seeing it though man?

Forget about what I think about Watchmen already... how many times can we rehash the same debate? I don't even have the patience to discuss it anymore in the Watchmen boards let alone getting infractions for getting off topic in the Wolverine boards.
