I went to the Marvel and DC boards to see what i could find out from their die hard fans.......this is what i came up with......Marvel said go to DC, they are more powerful and the only ones from us are the cosmic beings that could stand a chance......DC said DBZ has too much power for us.......I also found out that superman isn't as super as i thought......according to many websites that i saw and people's posts, Thor and others can beat him.....
Superman's powers has it's limitations as do most great characters. If you have a being that can blow up a planet with a fart he becomes boring because he's essentially unstoppable. Superman VS Doomsday was such a good match because no matter how bad Superman got beat around, he kept getting up and coming back for more....THAT'S a hero. The problem with DBZ is that the creators made them ridiculous in power and abilities. The writers of Superman are constantly coming up with ideas to keep Superman 'Super' but also keep him 'realistic' and 'relatable'. The creators of DBZ seem to me like the people that sat around and said "Ok my character is indestructible and can't die!".....thus making a completely unrelatable, ridiculous character.
Superman is so popular because people look to him as a symbol of hope. They relate to him because he represents the good in all of us. I'm sorry but when I see someone hold up a building by pressing on it's WINDOW I tend to think it's a tad overdoing it.
I love how SS4 keeps saying "well you can't punch Buu so he'd be unstoppable"....uhhh not ever hero only throws punches. They call him SUPERMAN for a reason....heat vision, super speed, freeze breath...any of that ring a bell? Thor would shove his hammer up Buu's ass, Silver Surfer would smack them around with his board, and Galactus would step on them.
DBZ is completely ridiculous in the sense that it's always "oh yeah well Buu can't be hurt".....ok so if I made a character and said "no one can beat him" does that automatically make him superior to everyone in DC and Marvel?
Superman could kick Thor's ass. He is prone to magic, but he's come out against it MANY times. I suggest some of you pick up the new Jim Lee Superman books....he confronts these enormous elemental 'monsters'. He tells them that no matter how many people they kill, or how many cities they destroy he'll keep coming after them. He'll destroy the planet himself so it's only him and them left, and they'll have nowhere to hide....they turn and ran.
As 'out there' as comic characters are, at least the writers try to bring them down to some sense of reality. Superman may be god-like but he's a character that most people can relate to....what the hell does DBZ have? ridiculous powers, bad hair, and horrible costumes.
GL corps would squash DBZ...
