Who IS Red Robin? A non-burger mystery.

the cover of red robin #2 has tim as robing next to red robin so it has to be jason
Or maybe just artistic imagery showing two sides of Tim, who he was and who he is now. Sorta like how artists draw Bruce Wayne and Batman together.

Or Stephanie in a man-suit. Or the Robin depicted could be Damien.
Damien's Robin costume is different than Tim's second Robin costume though.

How is that a good thing? The Punisher's kind of a **** character...

The original portrayal of Jason Todd that Winick created as a Punisher-esque character trained by Batman was pretty damn cool. Unfortunately, Jason is one of those characters who is written good by very, very, few writers.

Frankly I think the only good portrayals of Jason have been by Winick, Daniel, and Nicezia. I didn't like how Johns portrayed him in Teen Titans as a psycho who thinks that no one cared for him, Beechen's portrayal was embarassing, Jones turned him into freaking Octotodd, and Countdown was just ugh except for when Bedard wrote him.

I'd prefer Batman and Robin being Bruce and Damian and Nightwing and Tim getting a big-brother/little-brother book.

Written by Tomasi :cmad:.

Also, remember Comic Covers should never actually be considered useful to the interiors, and really only used to depict something catchy to get someone who wouldn't normally pick up the issue to pick it up. Cover Misleads happen more often than they don't, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

why is the rope on both sides of the building then?

I'm hoping it really is just Tim from two different time periods. It seems likely, given how closely the poses mirror each other.

I don't know when each series starts. If Red Robin starts before Batman and Robin, there's your answer.

Although I don't really believe it's Damian. I think it's Tim and Tim on that cover.

Why the hell is Tim fighting Spoiler on the left?

Because she was working with Anarchy to destroy Gotham after Bats died (as Bats final thing for Spoiler to do was to "make Tim better" by systematically destroying one thing after another.

She was a good guy working with the bad guys to make the good guys better overall. Tim found out, got pissed and basically threatened her if she ever tried to dress up and play hero again he'd have to take her down and take her in for being part of the problem, regardless that it was Batman who wanted her to be.

Jesus, that sounds ******ed. Hunter Zolomon did the same thing for the Flash, but he had the sense to at least know he was a villain because of it.

Well she does too, but there was a weird love triangle between Tim, some black chick and Steph, and it got even more convoluted when you add that Spoiler was running around causing chaos that got way to out of hand for her to be able to deal with. She understood that what she was doing was considered "evil" and "wrong", but it was one of those "ends justifies the means" situations. Really, the last 2 arcs of Robin were mediocre, but in those 2 arc's there was more character development for Tim since he's been introduced.

It sounds like she did basically the exact same thing she wound up getting "killed" for in War Games. :o

Hah, pretty much, yeah. Except this time she was under Batmans direct instructions to do so.

Was it really as cut-and-dried as that? 'Cause War Games was technically Batman's instructions, too... just instructions that Steph wasn't supposed to see and twisted around until she screwed them all up and threw Gotham into an uncontrollable gang war.

From what I recall, which shouldn't really be taken as what happens more often than not, but whatever...Either in the Spoiler/Robin special 1 shot or one of the first issues with her back there was a flashback with Bruce basically telling her that in the event of his death/disappearance (remember this was all during the big RIP fiasco where Bruce thought he was losing it and was going to die soon, so on and so forth) that she was supposed to help Tim become the protector of the City. He had some plans to help achieve it, and knew that in the event that words gets out that Batman is gone the gangs are going to rise up and it's going to become a much darker Gotham, but it was mostly him just giving her guidelines of what to do, and her doing them then adding her own little spoilerisms to them and causing a lot more grief than it was worth. She was, essentially, the one keeping the bad guys 1 step ahead of Tim's 3 steps ahead, but was told to do so by Batman.
