Who is Supernova

52's editor Steve Wacker confirms that Supernova's costume Insignia is the same as that of Metropolis's fictional TV station Galaxy Broadcasting System. Which was owned buy Morgan edge, and is where clark Kent and Lana Lang worked as anchors in the 70s era comics.

Did he just say it was the same as or it was taken from? Like Eradicator's or Steel's outfits, they had the S, but they weren't superman.

he said it was the same exact symbol.

It's Steve Lombard.

....ITS Called a multiverse, there are infinite universes, hence there is an earth - C- ... Infinite doesn't mean you stop at 503.

We do know that Supernova picked up Luthor's Kryptonite glove, though. And we know, from what Ralph has deducted, that Supernova's abilities aren't inherent but are given to him through a variety of techs.

i forgot about that.

maybe it's ted cord. maybe after his death when booster went back to the future, he then traveled back in time to save ted at the last second. the fact that supernova called booster a fraud could mean that the booster in 52 wasn't michael carter, but his ascestor daniel whom skeets placed in that time loop and he somehow escaped and donned the booster gold uniform and ted figured it out. ted's also a genius when it comes to technology so it's logical that he could create a device or devices that allowed him to produce those types of powers. it doesn't really jibe with the whole "superman's disappearance was the key" clue, but the other stuff kind of works.

"sometimes a pencil is just a pencil". Can you think of a better symbol for SN than the one he has? It could just be that the symbol worked for a character of his name.

On the other hand... was Galaxy Broadcasting from Earth 2?

52's editior said the Galaxy broadcasting networks symbol being that of Supernova's is a hint/clue to his identity. Yes its from earth 2 i beleive as well.

Starman and Eradicator seem to fit the facts the best. We know it's not a villain because Ralph reaction to the character. I was thinking one of the new gods using light powers to mask a boom tube, but that doesn't fit "Superman was gone that was the key"

someone on the Newsarama forums had an interesting theory. Booster's ancestor Daniel Carter is Rip Hunter and Rip Hunter is Supernova. basically Skeets inadvertently created Hunter by locking Carter in the time loop which Carter somehow manages to escape. he then teams up with Booster Gold in secret, staging Booster's death in order to plot against Skeets whom Rip Hunter/Daniel Carter knows has gone rogue.

if it's someone from earth two, then maybe it's kal-l. that would explaing that one panel at the end of js of a # with a hand coming out of his grave. it would also tie into the idea that his appearance was a result of superman being absent and would explain why luthor thought it was supes.

The powers are wrong, but because it could be more than one set of powers, he could be using a device. The build seems wrong though. Plus, why would he dig his way back into his grave just so he could freak Karen out?

did he have a different build than earth-1 superman? because lex is convinced that supernova is superman, therefore their physiques must look similar. the powers don't have to be the same. supposedly they're technology-induced. i have no idea what the story is behind his resurrection, if it's him. we'll have to wait and see...

im pretty sure kal-l will be staying "dead" until johns ressurects him in JSA

My money's on Rip Hunter.

Considering that he hasn't show up at all in 52 other than his lab. That may be right, but I don't see how it fits "Superman was gone, that was the key"

Rip Hunter is a good choice..
Maybe its one of the millions of Superman's from the alternate earths.

Daniel Carter will turn out to be Rip Hunter finally giving him an origin.
