Who is the biggest poser?

What about a specific character/figure posing challenge and a generic figure/character challenge?

Specific challenge- Has to be a specific figure, like ML10 Spidey, in a trademark spidey pose.

Generic- Any character/figure is allowable, but the conditions are more specific. Best team pose, best fight, best pose for a poorly articulated figure.

the problem with team poses though... everyones will look different i mean it like judging someone who has 3 x-men vs someone who has 15... or the avengers vs BPRD lol you get what im saying?

the one who has more... and better articulated figs will naturally always win

Ok, well, then the challenges become more specific.

Team pose must have "x" number of figures. They must stay in the same "universe". Or they could be a mix. There's ways around your concerns. But, if you don't feel like you can compete in a certian challenge, then why compete in it?

environment shouldnt matter... posing doesn't have to include an environment.. nor other figs... that makes it a display ;)

Well....if you are posing in a shelve and other competitor is posing on a whole city built for his legends..... that may affect judgement.

Ok, how about this:

"Unless otherwise specified in the challenge, all posing will be done in a generic area to focus on the pose."

Meaning, all posing should be done perhaps in front of a sheet or somthing that contrasts a great deal with the figure. I think we all have a bedsheet, towel, shirt, wall, etc etc that is bland and generic.

That way, we can have a seperate contest for someone to pose in a set or something.

no im not complaining... im just having a really hard time with trying to get this to be fair to everyone... for instance.. visually... 6 posed "x-men figures... can contain any x-men... some have more poseability.. as well as others simply looking more visually appealing, such as using jim lee x-men vs astonishing... i just feel that really in all honesty theres only 2 ways to prove who the best poser is...

1) being 100% figure acurate... if your gonna enter.. or challenge someone (think of it as if it was challenging someone in band like highschool) you pick someone to challenge... then you both have to agree on the same exact figs and type of display (like mood, ex: team shot, fight, etc)

2) or... portfolio, we all simply post our best work (must use a certain number of pics to show your very best work, and yes photography skills help because a crappy pic hides your pose)... and everyone grades each picture on a scale from 1-10... those points are tallied up and the winner wins

the challenger imo should just set the rules... i think that makes it better... the challengy just has to agree that its fair terms

the point is more portfolio specific... and the "challenging" is more well everything specific...

portfolio shows everything as a whole... and the better picture you take the better in general the pose will look... so u gotta know how to use a camera

I'm not keen on the portfolio thing mostly because I'm lazy. You already have the pictures and the variety done. I'd have to go bust out all the boxes I have packed up to take a competitive amount of pictures.

But you only have marvel figures from what I know. You'd dominate a division strictly for Marvel. I think you mostly have Avengers and Spider-Man...I remember F4 stuff, too. I'm sure you have more, I'm just too lazy to check and I'm tired so my memory is bad.

I'd like to see it set up like this (I think this is slightly based of your idea, spideyboy):

McF Spidey, trademark spidey pose, 1 picture, generic background, etc etc:
Participants that signed up:
1. Saint
2. Spideyboy

-or-
A challenger comes up with the rules, challenges someone else, and the rules are decided upon.

Challengers go and take the pictures, post them by a deadline or they forfeit the challenge, judges vote, and the winner is decided.

Would we want a tournament style thing or just who has the most wins? Or do a point system where the more challenging a pose is, the more points you get for winning?

lol. you know what I mean.... It gotta be fair for all contestants!

well the portfolio means "anything goes" you just simply show your best work...

i like both ideas personally.. and think there both the best routes to go.. but its your guy's call

well.. lol im just as equally lazy.. that means i gotta repose.. and re-take pics as well... for either thing we do

i have every ML character.. and 99% of all other marvel legend side series.. (x-men classics, spidey, F4 etc)

challenger makes more sense... imo then being overly specific and "boring" it keeps it interesting lol.

well... depends.. we can rank based on a poll right off the bat... and people can challenge for that rank?

I think the winner should win his/her points winning matches. With the participants as judges, the winner advance to a next round!

ya.. but if its a challenger, theres no rounds.. its people challenging whoever they want to take there "spot"

Well, but then who will select the positions of all who enters the competition.

Lets say, you enter, obviosly you'll be at the 1st spot, then lets say Saint in second....somebody have to do that.

IMO, you can make a list once all the participants are listed, and as the competition pass, the spots will be updated.

Obviously those updates will be made with the points won.

Well man think about it.... I'm going to bed...It's 1:42am here, and I gotta sleep....See ya later Spidey.

well i explained everything, i think your over complicating it...

both of the ways i explained... i explained well enough i think...
