Who is The Greatest force for good on marvel earth right now..

Nova doesn't count for me because he's doing the most good out in space, protecting the whole damned universe instead of our pissant little globe. But he's definitely way up there on the hero meter.

For Earth, I'd say Hank Pym's Avengers are doing the most right now. Their very existence discredits Norman Osborn, but other than that they're not wasting their time on him, they're just helping people on a global scale wherever they need help.

Honestly, thinking about it. One of the only people who is really trying to be a hero, for the sake of being a good hero, is either Stature, or Ultra Girl, both of whom actually tried to really just better themselves as hero types.

Oh, Justice looks like he'll start doing his part soon. He's been opposing the Initiative in different ways since Iron Man's time, and now he's got the New Warriors back together under a name I refuse to call them and he's going after Taskmaster's Initiative with guns a-blazin'. Sometime.

Its funny how no matter how many times Justice and Nova meet...they never seem to do anything?

I mean, usually when two heroes meet up a villain pops in, or a crime is under way but it seems like Villains duck and cover everytime Nova comes into town.

Haha, Nova does tend to have pretty low-key visits to Earth. Although, in fairness, he got attacked pretty hard in Project Pegasus this last time.

As long as he doesn't go all angsty, "We gotta shut them down no matter the cost" thing like Night Thrasher did. You know, actually try to NOT make it a point to look like a hero, and instead, just be a hero.

Didn't the T-Bolts attack him too? I believe he whooped their asses.

By Skrulls which is, technically, his jurisdiction. But really, all Vance has to do is just give Richie a call, make up with Firestar, slap some sense into Emoball (though the little bastard might end up liking it) and get the new Night Thrasher together and BAM! Instant regime change. Really, most people would like to see Spider-Man, Songbird, Fury or Stark take down Osborn but I really feel that this would be a really...REALLY good chance for Marvel to redeem the Warriors name.

Alas, that ain't gonna happen.

It looks like they're doing stealth missions to take out evil Initiative people slowly now. I'm sure their strategy's sound either way. They got Gauntlet working for them now and, between Justice, Tigra, and some of the others, there's plenty of superhero experience to go around.

I'd rather them actually sorta do like what Pym's Avengers are doing, and just sorta be heroes. :( Rather than hurt, woeful anti-government types.

It was a great but short fight actually. I think it would have eventually fallen in the T-Bolts favor since Moonstone's a crazy ***** who'd be willing to kill innocent civilians to get at her target. Then again, American Eagle chumped them pretty good too.

American Eagle flat out kicked their asses. There's a character i'd like to see again. Preferably not written by crappy writers. :o

American Eagle as the Greatest force for Good? Why not. If you ask me, the A-listers are performing at the absolute worst right now.

Well, Justice, Night Thrasher, Gauntlet, and Tigra all have a huge chip on their shoulders regarding the Initiative, so that's probably not likely to happen. Besides, Pym's Avengers are doing what they do well enough for two teams. They fix more problems between breakfast and lunch than most other teams do all day. S'why they're the real Avengers. :oldrazz:

I'm curious...where do the FF stand in all this? Shouldn't Richards have figured out how to knock Osborn off the rocker like...I dunno...Before he even got on it?

I gotta say, since Slott has picked up into the Avengers (I honestly didn't even notice the author change till someone told me here) I just immediately enjoyed it craptons more. Pym is finally back in the game, and not a skrull, or half skrull, or making out with robots.

...Well, maybe making out with robots. :o Though, if Jocasta would let me, I probably would too. :csad:

He's probably trying to stay out of the government thing, ever since Susan nearly left him over his last involvement.

Wow, this topic reminded me of so many heroes who are just "corrputed" now...

Spider-Man with his devil worshipping and let's not forget his morales being shook up during Civil War.

Hulk declaring war on New York.

Wolverine being himself.

Daredevil [blackout]leading the Hand[/blackout].

Don't even get me started on Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, and the Illuminati.

I guess, Songbird?

What is she even up to these days? Last I saw Osborne tried to get Bullseye to kill her.

Songbird has made contact with a few former truly good members of the Tbolts (remember when the team was composed of Sbird, Radioactive Man, Mach 3/4/5, Atlas...the good TBolts?), then the current (Dark Reign) TBolts take the fight directly to her. She is saved by one of the current Tbolts, the new Black Widow, who reveals that she is actually [blackout]the original Widow in disguise working for Nick Fury[/blackout].

I've always loved Songbird after she dumped that laughable Screaming Mimi I.D., and the fact that she genuinely wants to do good even after the TBolts became filled with corrupted members while she was on (Venom, Bullseye, the manipulative Moonstone, who actually was an original member)...I just love Songbird!

I bet he and Sue have decided to stay out of politics for fear of another near-divorce like in Civil War. The FF probably have such a high profile that Osborn can't do f***-all to them without making himself look like the *****ebag he is. So they're free to do as they please, officially sanctioned by the government because their identities are public anyway.

I don't think Spidey's morals were all messed up in Civil War, he thought he was doing right by the mission. =/ It wasn't his fault he didn't know what was going on behind the scenes.

And the people involved with the Illuminati made sense in many ways. It's not like it was how Alex Jones makes out the Illuminati. It's not like they were trying to do bad stuff with it. =/

Yeah, well, the very idea of a secret society of high-power heroes reeks of oligarchism, regardless of their intentions. Share information above the table like normal people, for crying out loud. :o

Imagine if someone told you 15 years ago that Marvel's greatest hero would be Screaming Mimi, would you believe them?

Songbird's actually not a bad character. Good strong-willed woman with a not too shoddy past (I mean...female wrestling isn't THAT seedy), hoping to make amends for what little crimes she committed. Plus she's so...Heroine-next-Door. Too bad the odds are continually stacked against her.
