They're all capable of being leaders in a given situation.

I have a bad feeling Batman's going to be the leader of the Justice League instead of Superman. Mainly because he's WB/DC's golden boy. They can just use the excuse he's more experienced then Superman, so that's why he's leader of the Justice League. I hope I'm wrong though, because I think that would be another slap in the face to the character of Superman and Superman fans alike.

This.

I subscribe to the idea that the Justice League have a flexible leadership position since all of the members come from widely different backgrounds, and don't all deal with the same type of enemies. Like in a typical invasion scenario, why would Batman be the go to guy when someone like Green Lantern, who deals with Aliens all the time solo would be a better fit?

I think that's exactly what's going to happen. WB/DC's Bat-***** is not going limp any time soon. Besides, if the scoops turn out to be true, Batman will be the one who starts "recruiting" other heroes to form the JLA, so it would make sense for him to be the leader since the team will basically be his baby. Funny because of all the characters, Batman is the last one who needs the most exposure but hey, he sells the most so I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Still, I hope they use the New 52 origin as an example and present most of the story through Cyborg's point of view, with Vic becoming a cyborg during the entire ordeal and him serving as the audience's perspective, etc. Worked really well in the comics and recent animated movies.

For me Superman should lead, I don't mean bark out orders but he should lead them into battles etc. Infact if you remember the JL/JLU animated series, the two parter think it's called Hereafter when Supermam supposedly dies is a great example of this. It shows what he brings to the group and they all looked up to him. Even in a DCU that was very Batman orientated in terms of favouritism it was shown that Superman leads. They each have a role to play though but really no one is in charge.

They are both leaders in their own right, but Batman is in front of Superman because Superman looks up to Batman. This Superman is pretty different from the comic book and still has a lot to learn if he wants to be in front.

Actually we have no idea if Superman looks up to Batman in this universe. We know they obviously settle their differences but we don't know how they feel about each other. Even in Man of Steel Superman inspires others (Lois, Perry, Steve and the Soldiers to name a few). I actually have a feeling he's going to inspire this worlds cynical Batman. I don't think just because he's been around longer in the DCEU means Superman looks up to Batman.

I hope your right BH/HHH. I think Superman looking up to Batman would be insulting. He should respect him by the end of DOJ, and vice versa but, Superman should not look up to Batman.

Without a doubt, Superman is the leader.

I never saw JL as having a leader per se. Trinity is, however, the core of it. Still I'll try to answer along the lines of this poll... Superman is the public face, embodiment of the League.

By the way it's unforgivable that this poll omitted Wonder Woman.

In the JL: Crisis in infinite earths animated movie, after discussing the issue, Superman is the one who makes the decision to go to the other earth to save people. I agree with this.

But

That right has to be earned, which none of them have done yet. Especially Batman who comes from that '1% chance is enough to kill Superman' mentality. Even after correcting himself (or inspired by Superman etc), I'd be very hesitant to let him lead.

From what I've seen of this Superman and Batman, I'd say the JL's first few months of are going to be rough :D

Hopefully I get my desired inspirational Superman at the end of BvS and have Batman campaign for his leadership. And Superman imply that the JL will never work without Batman's intelligence and tenaciousness. Superman: "If I ever ignore you Bruce, hit me with some kryptonite"
Batman: "I will."

:D

Superman doesn't look up to Batman. Superman inspires Batman. Batman on the other hand teaches Superman that good doesn't have to and sometimes shouldn't be nice.

Superman will lead JL but he ain't leading the batman.

Did he just drop a JL spoiler?!

Kimmel: With Justice League, Superman's gotta be the leader of that group, right?
Cavill: There's pretty much an argument between him and Batman as to who is the leader.

Superman.

There's no other option.

As much as I'm a Batman fan, Superman should be the lead. At the same time, Batman isn't follow orders type. SO I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of competition between them.

I know everyone says Superman should be the leader. But I think Batman should be the leader. Sort of like a General for the army, he is the strategist and smartest one in the group. Batman physically has limited things, but he plans battle strategies and such.
It makes sense too, it was sort similar in the JL animated series.
Making Batman a leader would make batman useful, to those who says what is he doing here, he has no super powers. But I want him still to get into the action, like he did Justice League WAR.

I think both Superman and Batman would be great leaders. But because Batman goes Rrgue a lot that would be the most contributing factor besides it's been in the past. I think someone asked Henry and he might have said that it goes back and forth.

Batman never wanted to be the JL leader and he never has been.

Superman is the leader and Batman is the financial guy (algonside Oliver Queen and Ted Kord) who sponsors the JL and the tactician who plans the fights and scenarios.

Superman is more the person who faces the public and give the team encouragement. and sorry but Batman doesn't have those traits nor want to have them and contrary Superman chooses to be it and to have them.
