It was quite the disappointment in terms of box office relevance, i mean is BATMAN really that great so that people favored that movie over IRON MAN or the Incredible HULK? I don't think so.......It has to do with the writer and director, why did they get ZAK PENN to do the story anyways? He had a long record of flopped movies, I'll give commendations on Edward Norton for rewriting the script his dedication to uplift the character from previous depictions is amazing. Letterier did a good job in bringing back the feel of the tv series, but the street fight is not so acceptable it was reminiscent of the transformers movie except that the fight was in the evening. They should make the HULK as a GLOBAL phenomenon and his unbridled fury and strength is as dangerous, so make him go throughout the world and charge the plot with intense greed of the military to get him and harness his power for their own purposes. Throw in the hulk busters robots, the military might of not only the United States, but allow other nation to participate in the hunt for the illusive Incredible Hulk plus let the Leader creep up behind everyone and snatch the Hulk from their grip and use Hulk's power for his own plans. This will show just how his amped up intelligence is as compelling as the Hulk's strength and that both are a derivative of the gamma power. Now for the final touches bring back Abomination forming a loose alliance with the Leader to settle a score with the Hulk, Abomination this time is 50 to 100 times stronger than he was with an old axe to grind against Hulk and the people he cared for the most. So Hulk's final confrontation with his opponents would be more dramatic, more appealing, AND MORE APPROPRIATE FOR HIS NAME SAKE, he should be standing in the middle of the forces of the military, SHIELD, the Leader's hoards and Abomination all at once, but as soon as the dust settles, he'll walk out of it unharmed and saving the day.
P.S. The fight could be in a city or elsewhere as long as we would see Hulk and Abomination throw cars, buses, trucks and tanks at each other. We REALLY NEED to see Hulk and Abomination take a couple of hits from guns, tanks, choppers and planes and be able to get back at them, the director and writer should remember that it is not only important to bring back fans from the 70's so as to bring back the 'man on the run' feel of the tv series. The Incredible Hulk should be introduced to the world as an incredible creature! So go wild and do it like Micheal Bay does he always goes for broke when he makes movies.
Ignore my suggestions and I promise you the next Hulk movie will be his last.
I should sue MARVEL on the Hulk's behalf for screwing up his character.
