Ok, saw the movie like the rest of you and I absolutely loved it. I was amazed by the special effects, the acting, the storylines, and even the twist at the end with the kid (I know others hated it with a passion).

When I logged onto these forums today to see everyone else's reaction, I was a bit suprised. There are so many of you who claim that this movie is destined to be a "failure" and that Singer and crew need to be fired so that this franchise can live on. Are you guys serious?!?!

This film beats X-Men: The Last Stand (I'm a bigger X-Men fan than I am of Superman) on so many levels.

So I have a simple question for you:

Did you or Didn't you like the film?

I loved it. It had emotion & heart. It had the perfect combination of nostalgia and forward progress.

95/100

(I wanted to see more Clark Kent, and it took 2 viewings for me to accept Jason)

The bigger question is...did anyone follow this film here on the boards for over a year (not as a troll), and then not like it?

I think most people either loved it or liked it but didnt like some parts ...remember maybe 20% of the people who will see it have yet.

I think the movie was great..most had to understand you were not going to get a action packed movie after what 18yrs of no Superman movies...this had to tell a back story it had history.

The next one is where you will see some kick ass action stuff with villians..mark that down..2009 cant get here fast enought!!

Batman in 08 and Supeman in 09 HELL YEAH!!

Had a few good parts which were mainly all in the Tv Spots and trailers but overall it was a BIG disappointment.

You know, the poll options should really be "Liked It" and "Didn't Like It"...

Thought it was good. It was fun. 8/10 It needed more action. There was some real slow parts though.

This movie was so awesome, i'll put it up there with Batman Begins and Superman: The Movie. Unlike some of the superhero movies this one had heart, it didn't rely on just action. Of course there were some things I didn't like, but overall I thought it well worth the wait.

it was okay... singer really screwed up with the lighting though.
The lighting was incredible. It just didnt render the colors you wanted: bright primary colors. Thanks Singer!

People keep saying that, but I really don't think it had alot of heart. What exactly are you talking about? Superman:the movie had a lot of heart. Superman II, alot of heart. Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2... same. Superman Returns, not so much. We never really get into the character of Superman, or even Clark that much. It focused way to much of the villian which was the problem with the original Batman movies and what made "Begins" so good. The movies that focus on the title character turn out very well. Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, Superman, Superman 2, Hulk, Blade, even DareDevil focused on the lead character and who they are. Superman Returns didn't.

When I meant heart I didn't mean that Batman Begins, Superman the Movie, Superman II and the Spider-Man movies, and the X-Men movies didn't have any. To me these movies I just mentioned are my favorite superhero movies. With Batman Begins and Superman: The Movie being my top 2.

But some of the ones like Punisher, Hulk, Fantastic 4, and Elektra. yes you right they do focus on the main character but it just wasn't the same as the ones I mentioned above. To me they are nothing more than entertainment, action movies.

Like any other comic book movie, there were a lot of places and ways it could have been improved.
I figure all these people who say it was a flawless work of art which has redifined superhero filmmaking are just as misguided as those who say it is an unwatchable piece of tripe with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I'm just going to clarify this, I know your not talking about me paticularly but I do know that they were flaws in the movie, like Lex Luthor in my opinon was a major flaw. Although I liked Kevin Spacey performance alot, I'm just not a big fan of the real estate Lex that just wants land. But over all I enjoyed the movie.
