Green Goblin HAS to be the Final Villain in the Trilogy. They can easily build up Norman's character in TASM2 eventually revealing the GG costume at the end.

So who to pick for TASM2. How about Electro, and perhaps introducing Felecia Hardy (AND Black Cat).

I think that chances are the GG will be in the next movie. But if he is chosen for the final film, I guess I could see Electro as the second villain.

Do you think we should get the Green Goblin by himself, or have another villain in the film? No matter what, I don't think they should go beyond 2 villains. And only one should be the "main villain."

I remember that Sandman was considered the main villain of SM3, yet he was so insignificant. There was no clear main villain. I think that as long as they make a clear main villain, the movie could have more than one.

That may be so but for the sequel I'd prefer to see Norman Osborn behind the scenes using potential test subjects like Electro for example and then, setting up Gobby for TASM3. Couldn't think of a better way to build up Norman's character plus here'e hoping we'll see Harry in the sequel too.

Oh yeah, I agree. Then again he could be a villain in both TASM2 and TASM3 since Oscorp is the evil corporation in this series. We had Magneto in three X-Men movies straight, so why not GG in two SM films?

Killing Gwen in the third movie? Risky, but I could see it happen most definitely, BUT...the safe way is to use GG in the sequel and then kill off Miss Stacy.

The studio might be afraid of letting Emma Stone go. They need to find the perfect MJ in order to make a good transition, or else the GA could say "Spider-Man without Emma Stone?"

I don't think the GA would say that at all really. From what I hear, Emma isn't really giving a solid performance or has anything in her story to show she would be missed if something happens. Andrew is the one that steals the movie.

That would suck if the studio cancelled TASM2 or TASM3 like SM4.

It SEEMS they have a plan for more than three.

So are you suggesting you're going to do five Spider-Man movies introducing each villain and then the sixth movie will have the Sinister Six?

Tolmach: It seems like a good model.

Arad: It all depends on the stories that one wants to tell, because Spider-Man is really more a depth kind of a story, we have to be careful how many villains we can service, because a relationship with a villain has to be such that it's a story on his own. We attempted to do multiple villains--you've been there--you just need screen time to do it.

I'd like to see Kraven the Hunter as the main villain and Norman Osborn as a secondary villain for TASM2. The Green Goblin could appear towards the end of TASM2 and become the main villain for TASM3.

I can wait until the third movie for GG.

We need as much Gwen as possible. Emma was fantastic!

Emma WAS indeed fantastic. She holds her own just as good as Andy. They have great chemistry, and there was a scene forshadowning the bridge fall... Delightful in a sick sort of way.

I am only worried that Andrew and Emma's relationship could end at some point before TASM2, and it could affect the movie. Well they will be filming in about a year, so...

Venom. To make up for that sh**acular booking in the previous film.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing Scorpion, Rhino, or Vulture.

I don't think that Scorpion or Rhino will ever really make it to film unfortunately. Vulture has a much better chance than the two, and even then he may never make it either.

I really want to see Venom portrayed correctly on film. I have my doubts about a spin-off happening, and think it is really unlikely to succeed if it does happen.

After seeing the movie, I still want to see Venom somewhere in the trilogy, but I feel that Green Goblin would work a LOT better as the final enemy, and not as the villain in film two. Norman Osborn feels like the big bad of the series, who has a presence everywhere. He just permeates throughout the entire film. He needs to be the final enemy, not just shoved into the second film.

Venom is getting his own spin-off, so there should probably be some Norman Osborn developments there, too.

After two personal villains, I'd like to see the third threat have no connection to Peter Parker. That's my only caveat.

I say Green Goblin for ASM 2, and the death of Gwen. Mary Jane is introduced in ASM 2 and is a rival for Peter's attention. She becomes his girlfriend in ASM 3 and sticks by him despite Kraven's impersonation of Spider-Man in a Kraven's Last Hunt storyline.

I would put Mary Jane in ASM 2, the villain would be Kraven and chameleon, who is impersonating spider-man and making him look like a menace, so Kraven goes to the city to try to hunt Spidey down and get some fame, the fact that he's also being hunted by the police is a huge factor for why he allways ends up hurting spidey badly.

The ASM 3 would be GG and the death of gwen stacy, the last 15-20 minutes or so would be Peter moving on with his life ( i heard TASM also had a 15 minutes epilogue, this would be good here too). I think it would be a great Trilogy ender, and would still leave the possibility of sequels open, should they want to continue the film series

I think they should treat it like Nolan's Batman Trilogy:

Part 1 - Enemy is somebody hero looked up to (Ras Al Ghul / Lizard)

Part 2 - Enemy is hero's greatest classic foe (Joker / Goblin)

Part 3 - Enemy is hero's greatest modern foe (Bane / Venom)

I think it works perfectly that way. GG is a lose-lose situation anyway. His design just cannot work onscreen. Saimi's Power Rangers design was the best they could do because seeing him with purple trunks would be a laughing stock.

I still like the idea of Smythe after seeing the first film. He could fit into this universe like a well oiled puzzle piece in an intricate house of cards. Check mate.

You know, originally, I wanted to see this too. I think, however, while that could work, I don't know if ASM should follow Nolan's films quite that much. I think it should structure Norman Osborn as the Emperor character of sorts, the man behind everything. The third movie should be the culmination of the story arc, and, since Norman is part of the reason the Lizard was created, I feel that Norman should be partially responsible for the other characters. It should be an escalation of sorts.

If they give Venom a spin-off, I feel Norman should be at least partially responsible for that, too. That way, they can justify a Venom/Spidey team-up against him.

I really hope they don't force Venom into the storyline again. They really should go ahead with that Venom spinoff though. However I do have a sinking feeling that if by killing Gwen off in TASM3 might feel somewhat anticlimactic and leave a bad taste in the mouths of the GA, but it's got to be done. GG should die at the end of TASM3 though if Harry should don the costume in the future.

So I stand with GG for TASM3. If they make a second trilogy Doc Ock should start off TASM4. Bloody hell if we ever see the Sinister Six Andrew Garfield will probably be 40 by then lol! ;)
