Homecoming Who Should Be The Love Interest?

Mary Jane

Gwen always has the 'she gonna die' stigma attached to her.

The love interest, if the reports are true, will not factor in to the story much, or at least not nearly as much as the Raimi and Webb films. That said, MJ as the primary love interest works fine for me.

I would want MJ as the main love interest, but I'd prefer none at all. At least not right away

why limit it to Spider-Man characters now that its open to the whole mcu

what other female characters in the mcu, might Spidey be into (heroines/supposing characters)

Betty Brant for starters, then during the sequels, work past Gwen, Black Cat then finally MJ.

As others have said, do what TSSM did. :funny: I'm not such a fan of the whole "don't focus on the romance" that we're hearing about.

When it comes to love interests. Spider-Man doesn't have the standard two, like other heroes.

It's a new slate and a fresh start for our web-slinging hero.

Will they revamp Mary-Jane, or revive Gwen Stacy, or use Felicia Hardy in some way?

Or will Marvel/Sony surprise us with an unknown choice?

I choose Mary-Jane, since she is a great character and can have a chance to be cool.

Honestly I hope there is no love interest TBH. at least for the first film.

No one. Knock the love story on the head for ONE FREAKING MOVIE.

I agree with that. Let there be a situation where Peter has zero to De Niro time for romance :o

No Love interests, because they waste movie length.
How? Do you want the movie to be Spider-Man action for the whole length? That wouldn't be good. I think at least over 50% of a Spider-Man movie should focus on Peter.

His right hand. Keep the romance out of it for at least one film. There's more important things happening in the MCU than Spidey worrying about girls.

Why? We know that he has school, looks after aunt may, photographs for the Bugle do we really need to focus half of the film on that again? We've only done it 5 times already. How much of Winter Soldier was focused on Steves life? Not much. For one film focus on Spidey and the situation he's in. Not saying cut it out completely just saying reduce it a bit.

But what if part of the plot is about the kidnapping of a potential love interest, alongside the bigger threat? :hmm
I usually detest things that involve
'Being at the wrong place at the wrong time"

But if it's smart, then perhaps it could work. Gwen becoming the target because she is Captain Stacy's daughter?
Mary-Jane because....well, she has ****** luck.

That way, it keeps the element of the love interest strong, but maintained within the background.

No? Ok then :p

MJ Watson or Felecia Hardy. We already got Gwen and the reboot should distance itself from the TASM films as much as possible.

MJ
Liz
Betty

But I wanna see LESS of romance in this Spidey.

In the 90's cartoon there was an episode where Parker had to bail on Felicia Hardy and Mary Jane in order to go after Kraven, which made them both angry at him. At the end of the episode Spider-man is swinging home complaining about how the hero usually gets the girl, and how he'll be lucky if Mary Jane or Felicia ever speak to him.

Instead of another sappy love story, I'd rather see situations like this where his career as Spider-man negatively effects his dating life. He could go on a date with Betty Brant or something but it doesn't lead to anything serious and it ultimately fails because of the focus and time consumed by being Spider-man.
