Justice League Who Should Be The Villain?

I've always felt the best JL movie would be a death of Superman movie. So Doomsday. But that probably wouldn't work for the first JL movie. Darkseid is a safe bet.

I was just about to post a thread on this but I did the smart thing and look at least a couple of pages back so I don't end up repeating the same topic.

So now that we have official confirmation of a JL Movie, who'll be the baddie?

I feel Darkseid's a little predictable, I'd like a Starro invasion!

If they don't use him as the villain, some sort of nod would be cool.

I actually liked what they did in JL Mortal, where the movie ends with them saving the day, officially becoming the League, and ready to fight the next villain, Starro.

I also like the idea of using him as the opening villain for a JL sequel. perhaps together with an Atlantean invasion in-medias-res. Certain league members being compromised briefly (and battling one another) leads Batman to become paranoid and we get JL DOOM / Tower of Babel for the bulk of the film.

Ha! Didn't even see this. Yes bring on the the conqueror. A starro controlled Superman vs the rest of the league would be inevitable.

It seems likely that they will go with Darkseid since that's the new origin of the team.

I think going with Darkseid is honestly a bit lazy. Just like Thanos, he needs to have the proper build up or he falls flat. Besides there are better starter villains like White Martians, Vandal Savage, Starro, etc

At this point I say just go for Darkseid. I think he'd bring something out of each of the members, kind of like Loki did in The Avengers, and he can be established as the team's arch-nemesis.

I think that they should go with darkseid, but if they do then people will probably bring up comparisons with the avengers on a alien invasion story.

I'm kind of liking Starro as the first villain, especially if Aquaman has a role to play here. Not only could you put the Justice League in a position where they may have to fight one another, but they'd also have to fight innocent people. Imagine the Justice League having to take on a fleet of fighter jets where the pilots are under Starro's control.

It's not so black and white, and therefore very compelling.

Plus, you take the "invasion" concept and turn it on its head. Instead of an invasion from the stars, you have an invasion from the depths of the sea.

Both Aquaman and Manhunter work as possible intros to the villain. A threat from the sea or stars. I just can't see them bringing Aquaman to the big screen. He's redeemed himself in the comics, but I don't know if the GA would be so accepting.

Exactly why Darkseid showing up in the first film would seem uninspiring. It would rip off Avengers and they'll just make a live action version of JL: War which seems unoriginal. With Starro they could try something new like what Boom said with turning the entire planet against the Justice League among other things. If we're using Marvel analogies here we'd be doing Secret Invasion(before Marvel) rather than The Avengers movie/Ultimates 1/616 origin of The Avengers.

I just like the idea of having a home threat to kick things off.

They could do some terrifying things with the design of Starro, it's an all-encompassing threat (Starro/Earth vs Justice League, Justice League vs Justice League), and opens the door to some action sequences that we're not used to seeing. Can you say "extensive, large-scale underwater battle?" And how about aerial battles where they can't just simply destroy everything, and therefore have to get creative?

For a first 'Justice League' film, I wouldn't go Darkseid. If JL is shooting right after Superman vs. Batman, and SvB will introduce Cyborg and Wonder Woman, for the first Justice League movie, I'd have it as the introduction to Aquaman with Orm aka Ocean Master being the villain. In invasion story of Atlantean's attacking the surface after Orm overthrows Aquaman would be cool. Have Aquaman side with the Justice League to take down the Atlantean armies.

Could be cool. Introduces Aquaman, and gives him a backstory for any future movies.

Darkseid as a manager from the sideline. As opposed to just teasing him, he can be shown as mastermind at multiple points.

Darkseid springs immediatly to mind upon hearing the news of a JL movie. He is DC's best villain overall IMO so I cant wait to see him on the big screen.

BUT, I also wouldnt mind seeing him introduced in this movie and being expanded upon before becoming a main villain. So someone like Amazo, Doomsday or Imperiex may be better suited for the 1st JL movie.

They might use the OMACs and Brother Eye for Batman vs. Superman. I'd be fine with Justice League too.
