There's a thread for his look. So i figure why not one for his character.

So in the Webbverse how should Goblin be adapted? What should be his endgame? How should he act?

Instead of the man crumbling financially and mentally, I want to see a calculating, very public figure in the film. Something along the lines of Steve Jobs: charismatic to the public--someone who we could believe would successfully sell and maintain the image of the Dark Avengers-but, who in private is ruthless and willing to step on other people's necks for his success. The Jobs vibe would create a nice tension: it would add for pressure for Harry to follow in his father's footsteps, but, also make him a hero for people such as Peter (you would be surprised how many people worship Jobs; even knowing he was the world's biggest ******** on the planet, some of my friends aspire to be like him, or more specifically, the idea of him.) In terms of endgame, I would prefer he remain a background threat: maybe Peter having to decide to go after him or the film's top tier villains (Rhino + Electro) and regretting his decision to do so later, as the Goblins' schemes start to overwhelm him, after dealing with the film's "Big Two."

All of this. ^ Great post.

I'd like to see him as a man with two faces.

As Norman Osborn he's the overly confident, arrogant and ruthless business man.
As the Green Goblin he's the insane man vying to be the crime lord of all New York.

Basically a man who wants to rule the world and attacks that ambition from two fronts as two identities

I'd love some scenes of him taking out various hoods and crime bosses.

Like when he kidnaps Fisk, Hardy and Jameson in the 90's cartoon, and have him viewed like those in the SSM cartoon where supervillains are the new breed of big time criminals on the streets.

What do you guys think Norman Osborn will be like now that he is dying?

He's dying. He's willing to do anything to stay alive. He's has been manipulating Harry who in turn manipulates Electro to kill his targets and rivals.

At the end he gets the Goblin serium and the plot of TASM3 is perhaps Norman trying to cover up what he did and finding ways to be immortal.

I think really what this thread is asking is "should the Green Goblin be Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn or someone else".

Pretty much is it is anyone other than Norman I am going to hate it. The rumors out there are pointing at Harry, which will bother me a lot. But at the same time there are rumors that Harry will be Venom, which also bothers me a lot, but just shows (hopefully) that these rumors are meaningless.

The Goblin (I think for the general audience they should just drop the "green" nomenclature) should be and needs to be Norman Osborn.

I wouldn't mind him being disfigured due to the serum, causing him to be a recluse. So what I'm saying is that he wouldn't wear a mask as the Goblin, but his mask would actually be used to make him look like Norman. That should be shown, Norman taking his mask off to be shown as the Goblin.

Also please, no dual personality garbage! Just straight forward power hungry, possibly slightly psycotic Goblin!

I would like the obvious reveal to be at the end of TASM2, right after he drops Gwen causing Peter to kill her by accident. He uses Gwen to facilitate his escape and the movie ends with Peter cradling Gwen's lifeless body and him screaming.

The after credit's scene shows him in a lab/lair, surounded by equipment and such that includes monitors and pictures of things like the Rhino, a winged harness, the Black Cat slinking across a roof, Curt onnors in his cell, a special electric harnessing suit, a poster of some Illusionist's show, etc. Maybe even a bunch of information on Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He then removes his hood to reveal the Goblin's face (not Norman's) and he then laughs! Fade to black.
